That was absolutely awful officiating. He's clearly injure badly and in harm's way. You blow that whistle.

first shot hit the back/side of his knee and then he took another shot off his face a few seconds later because the refs decided to endanger the player's safety.

Well, not the injury that seems to be the main one.

Wow, I'm at a loss for words. What an unfortunate series of events, nothing looked malicious, but not a lot of thinking going on after that first injury

Took a shot off the inside of his right knee, then fell down, Skinner didn't see him go down as he was watching a pass coming to him, unintentionally blasted a shot at his wrist too while he was on the ice. His knee is the injury though.

I'm not buying that Skinner didn't know Versteeg was down.

On the refs for not blowing it down. On Skinner for taking that risk for a SOG

Off his face!? WTF.... The last replay they showed he was in the fetal position and I couldn't figure out why the play was still going. Not cool, I hope he's okay.

Refs are either trigger happy or off in lala land. Overall really blowing it (no pun) early this season.

This is true.

I guess I'm moreso talking about his play making in the offensive zone. He's just completely irrelevant.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he also got a fractured wrist from the shot. Skinner got all of it.
