Didn’t miss it, it was a trip not a slew foot.
Look the issue with that is if Tkachuk did it it would be great because it was on Dorset. Bennett is the flavour of the month for bitching.

I think the low IQ plays are what bug me the most. If he was playing smart hockey and the points weren't coming that's one thing, but I think the points aren't coming because he can't adjust from junior to the NHL.

They just want to use Jagr as a talking point. He has been fine. Nothing to see here

I'd be ok with Bennett sitting a game, just to send a message.

The main problem today is lack of discipline.
Mostly due to:
-Sloppy play
-Overabundance of chippy/low-skill players
-Reffing
It's hard to evaluate the play of the team beyond the penalties.
At least the Canucks don't look good

Bennett is the flame I cheer for most, but he's looked frigin useless offensively, defensively, and for all that talk of being a poop disturbed all he does is take penalties, never does anything that actually draws one.

What do you think happened? We had a meeting that you missed where we all got together and decided we were going to single out Bennett for ####s-n-giggles?
Maybe people aren't happy with Bennett's play is because Bennett's play has warranted the criticism?

Truth is the entire team is playing like theyre drunk or hungover. Theyre all playing bad. Zeroing in on Bennett like a mob with pitch fork and torches is a bit much. At least hes hustling to cover up mistakes made instead of pouting about them.
|
Most non-Flames fans would consider him a bust, he lacks composure and still makes junior like plays. I haven't seen any progression from him, looks like the same player from his rookie season

That Bennett non call trip was the reason the Canucks were able to score. Gaudreau was late coming off the bench because Bennett was taking his sweet ass time tripping the Canucks player.
Nobody hates Bennett but he's making dumb decisions all over the ice. He's not a center.

Bennett was most effective as a winger. He should play as a winger and Jankowski should be brought in.

Regardless of draft position Bennett still plays like a junior player. North/South player that rarely uses his linemates.

I'm not entirely against trading him for two reasons:
1) he's a chip that can get you that top line right winger to play with Gaudreau and Monahan...may have to add on our end.
2) I think Jankowski can do as well as Bennett right now, and possibly a lot better. I just haven't seen much progression in Bennett's game over the last 2 years, and Jankowski has done nothing but progress since we drafted him.
I have been waiting for Bennett to be that big difference maker for a while now, and in that time Tkachuk has come in and done a better job of what I think Bennett's game should be about. It's hard not to be impatient with Sam, but he has to start showing something at some point.
