I interpreted the motion as Chucky would be eating with a spoon when Doughty was done with him.

That's cause there isn't enough give a F factor from the Flames vs the Oilers lately. It's just play sloppy and scared and watch McDavid skate around unobstructed.

That's the way the Flames need to play against the Oilers, a little nastiness towards McDavid and you know guys like Lucic, Kassian, and Maroon are going to lose their minds.

Really really bad team defense, pee wee style even. Won't go far like this.
They'll be fine. It's only game 4, and there's plenty of time to work out the defensive kinks. Just be thankful they're winning these early games, as these points will come in handy down the stretch when we're fighting for playoff positioning.

If Tkachuk would've potted that last minute 2 on 1 it would've been so poetic. Still what a game by him. He's so mature for his age and nothing fazes him, he loves the rivalry and it seems like he's able to take his game to the next level. Thank you again Canucks for giving him to us!

Fun game, glad they managed to salvage two points they almost squandered after their best start of the season. smith is getting a lot of work these days and was solid.

Tkachuk the obvious player of the game for the flames. two goals and seemed to annoy the kings to no end. Gio and backlund were good all over the ice as usual. Harmonic had a few panic plays but was solid. Hopefully he gets more comfortable and poised. It would really help stabilize the d. I thought brouwer had an excellent game. He's perfect on the 4th line. I'd take him over lazar at this point. Glass needs to come out for jankowski.

Bartkowski needed to be in the ahl last season. Just continually gifted the kings pressure and chances. Jagr was excellent early but faded, as did versteeg. Bennett got better as the game went on. Hopefully he and jagr connect soon.

Monahan was fairly unremarkable before the ot goal, which was great. Thought ferland got piled on pretty hard but wasn't overly good or bad.

Far far cry from what my feels would have been last year haha!

I think Jagr may be a bit disappointed in himself. Certainly some rust in there and he couldn’t get back on the rush for his defensive responsibilities, but the other guys were fully aware and covered him. A couple stumbles, and the Flames really didn’t have him try and bring the puck through the neutral zone, probably by design.

Great to see him and Versteeg having some chemistry though and given where he was 10 days ago still in Czech, decent start overall. Man if he would’ve potted that chance on his first shift...

My guess is he plays one of the two games this weekend. Makes most sense that he plays in Van, but guess he will play Friday.

Yeah, I just double checked. This is only the 2nd road trip the Flames have ever beaten both LA and Anaheim. Only 9 wins in Anaheim to start with...

As we know, the last win in Anaheim was January 04, but we lost the game in LA.

02/03: A OTL and a tie
01/02: A tie and a loss
00/01: A tie and a loss
99/00: A loss and OTL
98/99: A WIN! (followed by LA loss) and a loss
97/98: A loss, a WIN! (followed by a loss in LA), and a tie
96/97: A WIN! (preceeded by a loss in LA), a loss, and a tie
95/96: A loss and a WIN! (preceeded by a tie in LA)
94/95: A WIN! (preceeded by a WIN in San Jose, and a TIE in LA), a loss, and a loss
93/94: A tie, a WIN! (followed by a WIN in LA!), and a WIN! (followed by a loss in LA)
