Olsen is head and shoulders above everyone else here, IMO. Findlay has looked good on offence, scoring a number of times.

I haven't really noticed Pollock too much, tbh. I'd say the three most noticeable forwards today have been Phillips, Carroll, and Ruzicka. Maybe Smith, he's been noticeable for the wrong reasons

Scorp's hatred of Smith isn't warranted. He's been making crisp, clean passes all day, and even managed to dangle once or twice. He's never going to be a star, but he's doing ... alright. I agree that I'd like more from a second rounder, but it's not his fault he was taken there.

To the contrary, his assessment of Smith seems very consistent with most people's assessment of Smith at the prospects tournament and everywhere else he plays.

I'll admit that I've been using a tad of hyperbole to discuss Smith's play today. I mean, he's not great, but he's made the odd neat little play. However, his style of play is just the opposite of what the Flames need.

I can only speak for what I see today. He's in position, has made a few nice plays and just scored a gorgeous deflection. He's not fast, probably never will be.

He'll always struggle to meet expectations, I'm afraid.

Yeah but even beer league guys can make clean passes and dangle once in a while.

Everything else he does is terrible. Can't keep up and his speed is atrocious. He's not even a good Ahler.

Don't know if the Flames have said anything but I expect the first round of cuts to come down tonight. No reason to hold off until tomorrow unless they absolutely want to see that 3rd group skate again in the morning.

Maggio, Rassell, Gawdin, Morrison, Dove-McFalls, Hawerchuk, Watson, Helgeson, Ruopp, Lowry (INJ) are my cut predictions although I haven't seen a minute of action, just basing it off of what I've heard and obviously past experience.
