Once Pastrnak is done, the Flames and Backlund's agent probably get something done I'd imagine.

I think he unjustly gets a lack of respect because he somehow didn't put up big numbers while playing with Chiasson, Brouwer, and Bouma often last year. Versteeg and Bennett are a good duo, really hope we find a 3rd for that line. Lazar, Tkachuk... Jagr?
Who gave you negative reaction? I'm taking names.

Haha a couple people with negative comments on YouTube I promptly muted. They join the long list of Canucks fans that I've blocked from leaving racist comments on my Ferland videos.

Don't like it, don't watch it.

Great player
Great person
Clearly not a 2nd line center

Could have easily negotiated via the media but chose to call it as it is
Didn't hear the interview, so wondering what clearly not a second line center means. Was he saying Backlund was just a shutdown center? Or that he was more highly regarded then a #2?

He's Cree, and butthurt Canucks fans have left about 50 racist comments on the Ferland vs the Canucks video I made alone.

Yeeesh.

By the way, didn't know he was Cree. That's cool that the Cree community has a solid role model like Ferland to look up to. Especially one who's been through hard times and came out the other side stronger and highly successful.

Crap moving too fast sorry

He said was considered a 3rd line center, but clearly with his production he IS a 2nd line center.

I'll go back and edit

So the Flames still ideally see Backlund as their shutdown center then.

And the Bruins see Bergeron as their shutdown centre. So what?

Pretty ideal to have a "shutdown" centre who can also put up ~50 points and is solid on both special teams.

It'd be helpful if people started souly adopting "type" labels vs "line number" labels for all players.

There are no 1-4 lines anymore. There are lines built for specific purposes and they are deployed based on your game plan, how the other team executes and with the ebs and flows of individual players.

It's been like that as long as I remember. There is the two scoring lines, the checking line and the energy line and of course this can become blurry when you have some all purpose lines. Lately it's often been the top scoring line goes against the other teams top scoring line.

Think the days of top six vs bottom six is over. Now it's top nine and hopefully young players moving up the roster as the bottom three. The depth and talent in the league has never been higher and you need to be able to have all four lines going if needed, there isn't a place to hide anyone anymore.

I know but people still insist on looking at an order someone puts a line up in and going "No way should X be on the 3rd line!".

I thought I heard Trevliving say that on the radio, but I wasn't 100% sure. That seems like a little bit of a slip up for him, or he's massively trolling the fan base.

Treliving doesn't troll to be a dink - leading the fans on like he's sorta considering Jagr without really considering it doesn't seem his style

If he leaves the door open, it's because he still thinks the cat might come in for some milk.
