These guys should just play 5 tiebreakers and call it a night.

It's funny you say that because those two women's matches today reminded me why I don't like final set TBs in majors. But yeah matches like this remind me there are exceptions. Maybe just arbitrarily apply it? Like when it's two guys who can actually break there's no final set breaker, but if an Anderson or Isner or anyone like that is playing another player like that we go with the breaker instead?

LOL The chair umpire just told Erik Karlsson to hurry up and sit down!
ESPN guys have no clue who he is. Just a fan.

Andy Murray officially out for the year now. Reminder, #### Andy Murray. Part of me kinda hopes he gets suspended from the Australian Open for the stunt he pulled with knowingly screwing the US Open draw. He went from "I might play" to "I'm out for the year" within two weeks....twat.

With Anderson winning there goes any chance of a interesting final. Who ever comes from the top half of the draw will win in 3 straight simple sets, probably won't even get broken. Thanks a lot Murray!

Interesting stat I heard is that the Fed and Delpo match probably will be played indoors today. Which normally means automatic Fed win BUT Delpo has a 3-2 career record against le Fed indoors. Come on Delpo! As a Nadal fan for the first time in his career I don't want him to play Fed especially on hard court.

I never truly disliked Murray but this stunt is just too much. I doubt there will be any recourse as it is near impossible to prove there was ever any malice intended.

I think Anderson winning was the best possible outcome at this point. Carreno Busta should easily dispatch Anderson without much effort by simply forcing him to hit too many ground-strokes.

A Nadal/Fed/Del Potro Vs. Carreno Busta final will at least provide a challenge for whoever advances from the top half.

an equal #### you to US Open management. they didn't have to do a complete redraw, but they had plenty of time to cut Murray's troll stunt off at the knees by just moving Rafa or Roger to the other side. instead they just sat on their hands claiming rules can't be broken, and let the bracket predictably collapse into crap.

I'm almost hoping now for a PCB vs. Rublev final in front of a 2/3rds empty Ashe stadium. and as they're walking out on court, PCB slips on a banana peel that had been discarded last week by Shapovalov, forcing him to retire and giving Rublev the title without a single rally played on Super Sunday.

I think the US Open wanted Federer and Nadal to meet. Easier if it's a SF than a Final.
For many years they were 1 and 2 and it never happened.

One of my favourite Nadal moments occurred earlier this year at Wimbledon when a fan asked him to sing a prosthetic leg...

When asked later by reporters if that is the weirdest thing he has ever been asked to sign, he chuckled a little and replied with a smile, "No".

Anderson is more of a threat than Busta simply because he could have the serving day of his life and win three tiebreaks. Busta doesn't have a single weapon to remotely threaten any of the other three. Either way a likely utterly forgettable final. Busta Rafa would definitely be the worst possible final since I fully expect a lay down by Busta.

Ruby will have to stage one of the greatest comebacks ever in grand slam tourney history as he is currently down 2 sets (6-1 6-2 were the set scores in Rafa's favour).

yeah no, as soon as Ruby said that Rafa is his idol and considers him the "real champion", this was going to be a Spanish opponent style lay-down from the start. if anything, Rafa might not have had enough of a ramp up to a semifinal matchup, since he has not yet faced a seeded player. the next challenge will be a huge jump, assuming they are healthy.
