I am sorry that I gave that link any press whatsoever. The guy is showing clear bias without even so much as having all the facts. He should be fired into the sun.

There are going to be a lot of bewildered people out there this year when the flames turn out to be better than the Oilers.

I'm just hoping to get Tkachuk playing with Bennett. I think it would be a good fit, so any reason is a good reason.

I feel embarrassed for the writer of that "article"...

im sure most teams offseasons would appear to be "tragic" if you conveniently ignore their two highest impact transactions... Lol

Anyone with actual hockey intelligence that doesn't succumb to stupid hype will be more skeptical of the Oilers than Flames going into this season.

A lot more question marks IMO. Depleted and average at best defence. Top heavy. Lacking depth. Where does Eberle's offence get made up for? Can Talbot maintain his level of play over another 70+ games? Can they survive injuries to anyone important given that their success is predicated on a small handful of players? Can they maintain last season's point total let alone improve with a worsened roster? Is Draisaitl even for real?
Will any players fall back after the numerous career years?

The Flames only made move to address their question marks this offseason while the Oilers just created more question marks with theirs.

If Cam Talbot plays 70+ regular season games, the Oilers are going nowhere. They need Laurent Brossoit to play 20+ games, and he's averaged 4.5 STARTS a year in his NHL career to this point.

The Oilers are a fringe playoff team without #97. Take away Talbot and McDavid and they're going for a 5th first overall pick.

Strangely enough a Sam Bennett highlight video ought to be pretty short.

I'm surprised anyone would give a rip what this dufus has to say. When you forget half the moves a team makes, you display your ignorance, not your expertise. This guy is a poser. Ignore him and the rag he writes for.

If you start watching it five minutes before you have to be somewhere, you're going to be late.

Only if you weren't paying attention to him last year. He didn't put up significant numbers but generated a lot and was a beast physically.

For some context:
Monahan put up 31 goals and 32 assists in the regular season and playoffs combined. I was able to condense his season down to 31:26 of highlights.

Bennet only put up 15 goals and 13 assists combined, yet I still wound up with 30:29 of highlights.

Sorry about that, I had assumed my winky face would have prefaced the fact I was just joking.

Oh for sure I caught that. Figured I'd reply with some justification though as I have received some negative reaction to the Bennett video length.

I think he unjustly gets a lack of respect because he somehow didn't put up big numbers while playing with Chiasson, Brouwer, and Bouma often last year. Versteeg and Bennett are a good duo, really hope we find a 3rd for that line. Lazar, Tkachuk... Jagr?

I see rumours all over the internet with iggy in talks with Edmonton. Preferably I'd like to iggy to retire but if the choice was Jagr or iggy, and it's a situation where iggy is saying it's us or Edmonton. I'd hope we sign him.

The thought of him in a coiler jersey makes me cringe.

They're from the same source that seems awfully like BS.

Bob Stauffer also shut that down. Iginla to #Oilers rumours: “I’m not getting any indications it’s going to happen.”

re: Backlund extension

Thought it was pretty impressive to hear Treliving on 960 today pumping the tires of Backlund in the midst of an extension discussion.

Great player
Great person
Clearly not a 2nd line center

Could have easily negotiated via the media but chose to call it as it is
