Didn't Johnny play RW and the WC this year? he was a shooter there with 6 goals in 8 games

I just found out that one of the guys I work with is neighbors with Spencer's uncle. He said that they have known Spencer since 2007. Great kid. Saw some awesome pictures....so he isn't fibbing.
The guys a greaser fan....but said he will have to cheer for Spencer.

This was highly disappointing. And yet I posted a reply. Let the trail of disappointment continue.

bumping a "Flames will sign ..." thread to post a "I know a guy" story while the Flames are rumoured to be kind of close to signing Jagr.

A+ troll job. Well done, good sir.

I don't think he was intending insult.
To some trolling is a fine art. The timing of your bump would have been just subtle enough, that had it been intentional would have been a fine troll indeed.

This is exactly the kind of petty garbage that stops people from contributing. If you think a post is irrelevant don't respond, especially just to pathetically demean and intimidate.

Can we not see the humour in someone saying: my co-workers, friends neighbour is Spencer Foos uncle. He's a good kid... it's a terrible story, so terrible that it's funny... if my friend said something like that to me I'd give him the gears. It's all in good fun. Don't be so sensitive.

oh wow. I actually thought it was funny, but the "Flames sign ..." certainly got me for a moment. It was a joke. Holy cow, in no way I wanted to "pathetically demean and intimidate".

so, apologies to wired.

Spencer Foo is good at hockey.

Very excited to have him in the fold.

Pretty interesting to see that someone over at NHL figures Foo will hit the 40 point mark this season. This gets me a bit excited

Holy. That would be crazy.

All the Flames he predicts:
Gaudreau 69
Monahan 63
Tkachuk 50
Backlund 47
Frolik 42
Foo 40
Bennett 40

So if Foo were to make the opening night lineup out of camp, at whose expense would it be?

Assume for the moment no injuries, and no first ballot HHOFers get signed.

I guess that would mean no Jankowski, unless Janko beats out Stajan in which case no Lazar?

The chance that there are no injuries is fairly low. But assuming none, Foo making the team means one of Lazar or Brouwer starts the season in the press box, I would think.

Who was a better prospect coming out of the NCAA -- Foo or Jankowski?

I don't think anyone expected Jankowski to make the team last year -- should expectations for Foo be any different? The only difference in my mind is that Jankowski plays centre (and is projected to be a centre), whereas Foo plays RW (which is a position of need for us)...

I'll eat my hat if they sit Brouwer over Lazar.
