How exactly can one rationalize that staying for Trump is good for his/her career? Being associated with this turd of a Presidency in any way can only be negative for career ambition, unless there's a singular goal of raising profile (see: Mooch). If people like Mattis and McMaster and Kelly are legitimately staying to keep things on the rails (relatively speaking...to the max), and are taking the hit that goes with it, they are being remarkably selfless and somewhat heroic.

I didn't catch the whole speech, but it sounded an awful lot like every other speech about Afghanistan over the years. No end date (well, I guess Obama did). They're going to take out the terrorists, yada, yada, yada.
It's a bad situation, so Trump is in a bad spot either way. But it was interesting for a guy that blasted Obama for being there is now admitting he changed his mind. That was a bit of a surprise.

Well it'll be hard to take you seriously from here on out, unless of course you are joking in which, carry on.

Also, no, just because Lincoln was widely reviled throughout his presidency does not equate to the same situation here.

I think we have the answer to Transplant99's question about how many racists there are in the US.http://abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics/2...ry?id=49334079
The article says 9% admit it's okay, which the article says is 22 million, but that is bad math. If there are 330 million people in the US, that's closer to 30 million, or about 48% of those who voted for Donald Trump. It all makes sense now.

Not that it matters much, but the math is good if you are assuming only adult population.

Not really disputing that, but would like to see the question. It sounds Ike they asked respondents if it is "acceptable" to hold those views, not whether they agree with them, so I wonder if some respondents understood this as a sort of "free speech" question. I am not totally sure that is the right question to have asked.
