That would be fantastic. Was always a fan of Sharp.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Sharp
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Ferland - Bennett - Versteeg
Lazar - Stajan - Brouwer

Swap Ferland and Sharp if you want. That's good too.
Jankowski, Foo first up.

Sharp would be decent and probably buddies with Brouwer, Frolik, and Versteeg

With Stone re-signing at 3.5 NHLnumbers has Calgary at 9.67m in space and we need to sign Bennett, Ferland, Hathaway, Lazar and Kulak. Calgary is done. No space for Sharp or any of the other scoring wingers on the market.

its being discussed in the Stone thread but Lazar is probably a really low deal, Bennett is a bridge/show me deal and Ferland is going to be a solid deal but it should still leave 3-4 mill IMO to sign someone and a guy like Sharp shouldn't be asking too much.

There's probably not enough room to sign Marleau, Vanek, or Radulov, for better or for worse.
But Sharp or Gagner might still be realistic.

The way Treliving is making moves, he has a lot of time in the offseason to make further moves to get under the cap if they need to go over tomorrow.

Bennett (2.5-3) Ferland (2M) Hathaway (750k) Lazar (850-950k) Kulak (800K)

I think they should be left with approx 2.5-3M

Bennet $3m
Ferland $2.5m
Hathaway $650k
Lazar $800k
Kulak $650k

Leaves about $2 million in space with 2 extra forward spots to fill (Jankowski, Foo?). Seems like the Flames will be done unless they can offload Stajan.

We only need $1M after our RFAs to sign Mr. Canada, so we're sittin' pretty!

Think you have Bennett and Ferland about 1.5-1.75 to high

What has Bennett and Ferland shown to deserve that much?
Bennett - $2.50M
Ferland - $1.50M

Kassian set the market for Ferland - 1.85 x 3
Depending on term I can see a 4 year deal at 2M

Bennett is deserving of no more than 2.25 - 2.5 on a bridge deal.

I've caved. I want to see a hockey legend on the current Flames.

(if we can't get William or Marleau, that is)

So for Free Agency tomorrow the RW possibilities are Sharp, Williams, Vrbata (given cap constraints I assume Marleau is out of reach). Will be interesting to see what last ace Tre has up his sleeve.

If only Treliving could package up a nice prospect with him and send him to Arizona.. that 4.5 MM dollar salary can really help us bring in a guy like Marleau or Radulov.

Big right shot RW who can take some faceoffs.

That description fits two players: Doan or Iginla.

If Iggy doesn't want to be here, it's Doan. Plus all the connections to the management and now Smith.

Williams wants to stay east apparently. Marleau also wants stay in California it looks like. I think Sharp, Doan, or Jagr( ) are the most likely for the Flames.
