IIRC he admitted wanting to sign Hickey too, then he went back to BU and got traded.

But Hickey was already in the organization, it's pretty rare for Treliving to speak about players not already under team control.

I don't know why anyone would go there with the track record they have destroying young players. The only one they developed themselves of any value is Klefblom. Draisaitl and McDavid were pretty much straight from junior. They destroyed Schultz, Yakupov, Nurse, Pajaarvi and seem well on their way with the finnish kid from last year. Those are just the high profile ones. Their later round draft list from the past decade is one of the sorriest things you'll see, most of the ones who have done anything did so once they escaped.
Kid should find a quality organization and do his time in the AHL whether thats in Calgary or somewhere else. But the Oilers threw him into a luxury box and showed off their rolls royce stadium bought with welfare money so he'll probably go there.

Came for the foo jokes but can't get over the hype this player is generating. This can be a guy who may not get qualified when his contract is up.
