I wish the Flames were like the Habs in that our jersey never changes, regardless of manufacturer. Just same old classic design that respects the club's history.
I doubt this discussion is going on over at MontrealPuck.com.

Imagine being a Canucks fan and discussing not only tweaks, but changes to the core color (they've been blue, yellow, red, black, darker blue with silver), and the logo as well (hockey stick, no skate!, no whale!, no hockey stick with word mark!)
But agreed on leaving things alone.

Well, if what Ken King says is true then the new uniforms won't be a whole lot different than the last 10 years.

I had no idea. I'm actually quite surprised, but mostly because traditionally the CFL has organized things so that each team only needs to use one uniform set during preseason. This saves a lot of work making jerseys and assigning pants and socks to players who will get cut and not be around the rest of the season. Interestingly, they wore the black helmets, so I guess they did avoid assigning multiple helmets. I checked out the pictures and the jerseys don't look like the same red as the pants in many of them.

Adidas tweeted out a teaser video with some quick cut shots in it: https://twitter.com/adidashockey/sta...05023133982720
Here are a few stills from it...
First, it looks like the new jerseys will be branded as "Adizero", similar to the Reebok Edge branding the last time around.
The numbers will feature small perforations in them, presumably to allow them to "breathe" a little. The numbers on the World Cup jerseys last year also had these small holes. They were really only noticeable up close.
It also appears that the new styles will also feature the same material on the shoulders that the World Cup jerseys had.
The NHL logo on the collar looks like it will have a bit of a metallic plastic look to it. This also seems to indicate that the collars will be much thicker than we're used to, similar to the World Cup jerseys.
This looks like a generic jersey and not any one specific team. This might just be a sample jersey using the World Cup template and not necessarily show changes that will used by all teams.

I was curious to see what the old pedestal jersey would look like without the diagonal line. Thoughts?

I've never been a fan of the vertical stripe down the arm. It makes me think of the bad Leafs and Jets teams of the 80s.

These are great. The pedestal ruined what was an otherwise solid jersey.

That's not that bad actually. Replace the red stripe that goes all the way down the arms with one that's just on the shoulders, like the Devils jersey's, and that would be a pretty slick jersey. Perfect amount of black too, used on accents but not a main colour

All I can get
|
Perforated numbers may squeeze out third-party cresters, unless they invest in some sort of perforating apparatus. Or buy product from Adidas.
I bet that's the real reason.
There's a guy on CalgaryPuck, bc-chris I think, who does cresting as a business. Like to hear his take.

i'm sure it will only be a matter of time until the twill companies start producing perforated twill to sell to guys like myself
it's unlikely that adidas would sell to a third party company. i know rbk is really anal about selling the material used for name bars. one of my customers is the licensed supplier for the kelowna rockets - so they get lots of rockets jerseys to produce for fans. they tried to get the dark royal twill name bar material (for canuck jerseys) and were refused becuz rbk said the rockets only have red, white and black jerseys, so those are the only 3 colours they would sell to them
i know when i get teams that want name bars with the actual jersey material, it's not uncommon to get in an extra one or two blank goalie cut jerseys and then just cut them to make name bars.
what i really don't like about the 'spoiler' pics is the 'kiss cut' stuff they are doing. i can do it, it's just such a pain and takes more time than the traditional way of doing things

I came across these very large photos on an auction site selling game-worn jerseys from the World Cup.
Looking at these, it seems like every number would have to be custom made.
