President Trump is set to give a major speech about radical ideology to leaders of more than 50 Muslim countries when he makes his first official visit to Saudi Arabia at the end of this week, his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, said Tuesday.
“The speech is intended to unite the broader Muslim world against common enemies of all civilization and to demonstrate America's commitment to our Muslim partners,” McMaster said.
Trump will also participate in the opening of a center intended to fight radicalism and promote moderation.
“By establishing and operating this center, our Muslim friends, including Saudi Arabia, are taking a firm stand against extremism and those who use a perverted interpretation of religion to advance their criminal and political agendas,” McMaster said.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) indicated he’s willing to issue a subpoena to obtain a memo authored by former FBI Director James Comey stating that President Trump asked the FBI to stop its probe of Michael Flynn.
“.@GOPoversight is going to get the Comey memo, if it exists. I need to see it sooner rather than later. I have my subpoena pen ready,” Chaffetz tweeted Tuesday night.

They're not imploding, they're just mad their once in a lifetime chance to strip Medicare and Medicaid from their constituents and give gigantic tax breaks to the rich is being messed up, they thought they were getting a guy who would just sign the bills.

It would be pretty hilarious though if a guy who ran for President to feed his ego, somehow ####ing won and ended up going to prison for being a dumbass.
Too close to the sun Icarus.

Won't happen.
Trump will end up pardoning Flynn, and then pardoning himself (or at least try to do so--if he can't, then Pence will do so).

No not recordings. Notes and memos. Like a competent high level executive Comey detailed what happened in his meetings as he thought they were inappropriate to create a paper trail in case he got, I don't know, fired. Now that doesn't mean Comey did the right thing mid-election but from all accounts he was a good executive. And good executives document important things, good and bad, with memos and notes. Why? Because it can protect them in times like this but also because they like notes and documentation they can refer back to so they don't misremember something and make an ass out of themselves with contradictions.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they are setting him up to be Franz Ferdinanded. It might be the easiest way to get rid of him.

Chairman of the House oversight committee Jason Chaffetz wrote a letter to the FBI Tuesday requesting that the bureau hand over all documents or recordings related to President Donald Trump's communications with former FBI chief James Comey.
The New York Times reported Tuesday that Comey, who was abruptly fired last week, had "memorialized the content of phone calls and meetings with the President in a series of internal memoranda." In a reported memo to the FBI, Comey said that Trump had asked him to end the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. "I hope you can let this go," Trump told Comey per the memo.
In a letter to the acting Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, Chaffetz said that if true, "these memoranda raise serious questions as to whether the President attempted to influence or impede the FBI's investigation as it relates to Lt. Gen. Flynn."
Chaffetz has requested that the FBI hand over any related documents within one week, by May 24.

Ann Coulter is worried the "Trump Haters" were right.
http://dailycaller.com/2017/05/14/an...rs-were-right/
Quote:
I’m not very happy with what has happened so far. I guess we have to try to push him to keep his promises. But this isn’t North Korea, and if he doesn’t keep his promises I’m out. This is why we voted for him. I think everyone who voted for him knew his personality was grotesque, it was the issues.
I hate to say it, but I agree with every line in my friend Frank Bruni’s op-ed in The New York Times today. Where is the great negotiation? Where is the bull in the china shop we wanted? That budget the Republicans pushed through was like a practical joke… Did we win anything? And this is the great negotiator?
...
It’s not like I’m out yet, but boy, things don’t look good.
...
I don’t apologize for supporting Trump. He said all the right things and nobody else would even say it. ... when I wrote “Adios America” I thought there was a 10 percent chance of saving the country. On the evening of November 8, I thought, “Wow we have a 90 percent chance now, this is a chance that comes a long once every thousand years, we can save America now.”
And now, I don’t know, I’m someplace between 10 percent and 90 percent.
...
We have to keep Trump’s feet to the fire. It’s weird because I really think in his heart he’s a genuine patriot.
It’s just that it has been such a disaster so far, and that General Kelly is so preposterous, and McMaster — did you see him at that press conference? I thought he was ######ed.
...
I think all of the Trump true believers are petrified.

If Ann Coulter is jumping for the GOP ship, we are in very strange time indeed...
i would not be surprised at all if the Trump base simply circles their wagon and blames it on some vague conspiracy

Federal investigators have subpoenaed records related to a $3.5 million mortgage that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort took out on his Hamptons home just after leaving the campaign, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The mortgage document that explains how Manafort would pay back the loan was never filed with Suffolk County, New York — and Manafort's company never paid up to $36,000 in taxes that would be due on the loan.
In addition, despite telling NBC News previously that all his real estate transactions are transparent and include his name and signature, Manafort's name and signature do not appear on any of the loan documents that are publicly available. A Manafort spokesperson said the $3.5 million loan, which was taken out through a shell company, was repaid in December, but also said that paperwork showing the repayment was not filed until he was asked about the loan by NBC News.

Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) reportedly said Tuesday that scandals within President Trump's administration are reaching a "Watergate size and scale."
McCain made the statement at a International Republican Institute dinner on Tuesday night. Multiple reporters said that during a speech at the event, McCain compared recent reports surrounding Trump's administration to Watergate.
