There a new poster for the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp is staring as Willy Wonka this time. I must say, that Willy looks a little fruitier then the Gene Wilder version, but most movies with Johnny Depp are grade A so I will check it out.

He looks like a creepy pedophile-type of candy factory owner.

Seriously, I actually expect Depp to play Wonka very well. He plays the odd character superbly.

I don't see this being a commercial or critical success.

This film will inevitably compared to the (inaccurate to the source material) 70's version, and I imagine it will be unfavorable.

I can just see the reaction to the Oompha Loompahs from morons everywhere.

I've actually been looking forward to this since I heard about it probably a year ago. I think with the combination of Depp (not that Wilder wasn't great in the original) and the special effects options they have to wrok with, it's probably going to be somethng specila.

Great stuff.

I'm sure that the film will be pretty out there because of the simple fact that it is a Tim Burton production.

Johnny Depp? Are you sure Marylin Manson hasn't got that part instead? Where's the man's pigment?

Reminds me of that line in Black Hawk Down....

[on Tim "Griz" Martin's drawing]
Dan Busch : Looks good.
Tim "Griz" Martin : It's improving.
Dan Busch : But if I may make a suggestion... more of an observation.
Tim "Griz" Martin : Go ahead.
Dan Busch : It's a children's book. They aren't supposed to scare the living *beep* out of the children.

Looking forward to this too, Johnny Depp usually does not disappoint. I'd like to see them do a Great Glass Elevator movie now with the advent of CGI and it's refinement....
