Prior to Rogers Sportsnet taking over the national television contract in Canada, the CBC and TSN showed the stinkin' Leafs far too often. Many Flames games (along with the other canadian teams) were pre-empted or not shown due to ignorant and inept decision making by the former carriers.Quote:

Is it not enough that the U.S. has monopolized this game of ours in the Bettman era? Based on TV deals, marketing campaigns, relocations of Canadian franchises, etc.?

We now want to see one of the two original Canadian teams lose on home ice in front of their die-hard fans?

Bettman oversaw the relocation of an american franchise come to Canada.

No. Of course you don't cheer for them for that. No one but you is suggesting that nonsense.

I cheer for them because their fans love the game. Look at that mass of humanity outside the ACC. That is amazing. And I want that to continue.
Which is why I will also cheer for Nashville. I love that fan base too.

			That was impressive Andersen.
Especially funny to see when 2 minutes before Holtby gets bumped and just battles through it. Andersen gets clipped by his own guy and goes down like a sack of bricks.

Applauding hiding symptoms of a concussion. Simpson is such a tool.
Whether or not its embellishment on the play, what Simpson said is so stupid.

The leafs snuck in as a wild card and haven't won a series yet. Like the Flames took a step back a season after making the playoffs, the same could happen to the leafs next year.

Exactly. If the Flames had gotten NHL quality goaltending, that Ducks series would've easily gone 7 games.

Glad I'm the only one that didn't notice that. Matthew's goal was served up on a silver platter because of a fluke bounce of the puck.

Their fans love the leafs, not the game. If there were another franchise in the world's biggest hockey market (per capita), a lot of the sheep would have left the herd.
