Should Johnson or Elliott Start Game 4?

Johnson's, at times, 'solid' play this season was a contributing factor in the Flames making the playoffs, so I think he deserves a game here to try getting the series back on track.

Team is going to be entering this cores prime in 2-3 years, Calgary doesn't really have the benefit of screwing up another goaltender choice. Fleury could be the answer but it's too much of a dice roll for me to get 100% that idea. Would rather get Bishop myself

Doesn't matter, Calgary will lose the series regardless. Maybe give Rittich or Gillies a game. Put in Lazar and let Wideman have a last game as a flame. Ducks are moving on to the next round. Calgary is just a speed bump.

Gilles - we've groomed him a bit - even gave him a regular season game or two.

Give him a playoff game, and he proves he has something, see where it goes.

We need to figure out our goaltending for next year, so give the kid a chance.

I'd go with Gillies, but they won't do that.

My next choice is Johnson. Maybe not letting in goals in the first minute or weak wristers shot from against the boards is a key to victory

Johnson. Elliott had three games which is an eternity in the playoffs and was totally ####e. Nothing to lose for this team now, but to perhaps decide whether or not to re-sign Johnson (assuming that they are NOT going to re-sign Elliott ((although I know that they will))).

Johnson gets the start. Elliott failed at the worst possible moment.

Neither gets re-signed, last year proved the Flames can walk from their goalies easily.

Rittich/Gillies ready for back-up spot next year. Need to make room for Parsons in Stockton anyways.

Just need to sign another UFA for a short term deal. The question is who?

First, he's in his own playoff situation with the Heat

Secondly, why ruin his confidence by putting him in net in front of the garbage team that is the Flames against a very good Ducks team during a one-time elimination game.

I'd start Johnson in net and see if he can help calm the players in front of him. Clearly Elliot hasn't been his normal self and seems to struggle against the ducks, Johnson might come in and play lights out like he did in November.

I would also make some line changes upfront and add more energy with Lazar and F.Hamilton in place of Brouwer and Bouma.
