If Glen is furious enough to mouth off on the officiating during the postgame presser and Treliving is rage-smashing chairs, something will be done to address the situation, but as much of it will be behind the scenes as the Flames can manage.

Thanks.

The officiating is a league wide issue. The Oilers have spent the majority of their series on the penalty kill. Most deserved but some weak calls as well. The Jackets got totally screwed in the 2nd period of tonight's game. Much worse than the Flames. NHL officiating is simply pretty shoddy. Maybe there simply aren't enough quality officials to have two per game? Not sure but the standard right now is pretty low and it's really leaving a sour taste for fans.

Like I've been saying for a long time, NHL officials are the worst in pro sports. In a best of 7 game series you really just got to pray that they are on your side. Last night they took a great game and flushed it down the toilet.

It's too bad up to that point I thought the refs were letting the guys play in the 3rd. Then I thought wait, I bet with 5 minutes remaining Flames get a penalty. Then....it's like WWE

No kidding. That game 100% warranted OT. Should've been solved through uninterrupted 5 on 5, aside from any dirty plays, or automatic delay of game.
They effing ruined it.

Might have been said several times, but the most frustrating thing about the 'no goal' is that it should have been ruled a goal, and it should have been on the ducks to challenge. The fact that GG was the one having to risk his challenge doesn't make sense to me. Unless it's actually written somewhere that the refs can just review whatever they feel like whenever they want, if so then fine.

Was thinking the same thing, call on the ice was "no goal" not "goalie interference", it was maddening it was decided that it was a goal and then overturned it all in one swoop. complete BS, it's not supposed to work that way.

As bad as things are for us... it could be worse, we could be Columbus or Minnesota.
3 of the league's top 5 regular season teams (CLB, CHI, MIN) are a combined 0-8 these playoffs.

All three weren't exactly playing great down the stretch (Hawks rested players so I don't read too much into that being the issue for their struggles). I assumed the Penguins would win their series but not this easily and the Blues/Wild series was a bit of a toss up but down 0-3 is a bit of a surprise. The Stanley Cup truly is up for grabs here and all it will take is for any team to get hot and we could see one or maybe even two surprise teams in the finals.

Didn't see this posted: Flames and Ducks mic'd up in game 2 (including some audio from the referees about the no-goal).

Oh please, you've been told to quit making dumb thread titles since you've been on the site and that's been a long time.
Thread titles are meant to deliver a simple message, they're not for personal raging emotional comments. Save that for inside the thread as your opinion isn't the reflection of the board especially for post game threads. You always race to make threads and try way too hard to be clever in the title, do it simple and then say whatever you want in the thread.
"The Calgary Stupids" makes you look immature and the board as well.

Seeing how wide open it is makes me feel worse right now. Shades of 2006.

That's not at all what the title was, but okay then.
It was "Calgary stupids their was to an idiotic, heartbreaking Game 2 loss". It used "stupids" as a verb, not a proper noun. It's improper grammatical diction, but whatever.
Believe me, I know that you aren't a fan of my 'creative' thread titles. Remember 'Alex "Steve" Chiasson'?

You knew someone was going to ask what the "Steve" meant and you got what you wanted, a chance to post an image of a former Flame who has the same last name that no one cares about.

I don't know what your issue with my posting or anything is, but you aren't a moderator or a "title policeman". Honestly, just report it if you think it's that much of a detractor to the board's quality, because talking about it in the PGT is just off-topic.
By the way, you're by no means innocent of this. You've referenced memes in thread titles, added a helpful jab at me in a GDT title, added excessive punctuation indicating a shocked opinion to a title... practice what you preach.

You don't see the difference between a simple meme (that delivers the message clearly) and the stuff you continue to do?
And that GDT was a friendly thread, didn't realize you were so offended. It wasn't emotional at all and it didn't give my raging opinion.
Stop making excuses and just make better thread titles or just don't make them at all. It's not a race, believe me, someone else will make the thread.

Besides getting absolutely destroyed in the faceoff circle, our numbers look decent through 2 games. Hold court and I like our chances on the road Friday.
Totals through 2 games:
Calgary Shots: 69
Anaheim Shots: 72
Calgary Faceoffs: 58
Anaheim Faceoffs: 89
Calgary Powerplay: 2 for 8 (25%)
Anaheim Powerplay: 3 for 11 (27%)
Calgary Hits: 67
Anaheim Hits: 68
Calgary Luck: 0
Anaheim Luck: All Of It
