Call me nuts, but I'm very keen to see what Lance Bouma, with almost a week of rest, can do in the playoffs.

I have zero confidence right now.
If we do win (atleast ONE) in Anaheim then I expect nothing short of the Stanley Cup.

I would say the Stajan line matches up better against the Vermette line.

Any other team in the west and I liked our chances. even Chicago. but, as some posters have noted, winning this series will almost certainly require winning 2 games on the Pond. I don't think we can do that at this stage. really hope I am wrong though.
they needed to win one of those last two games against those pricks.

Playoff mind games. Make Anaheim think that Monahan is weakened so they hone in on him more allowing Gaudreau more space.

Also Bouma, Stajan, and Chiasson have been very effective together. CP make the lineup changes happen like in the past!!

Versteeg/Bennett/Chaisson have looked very good together.
Much better than when Brouwer was on that line. Brouwer is fine where he is. His style of play better suits playing with Stajan.
The Versteeg/Bennett/Brouwer line was incidental (imo) to the team's success during that win streak, so there's no real reason to go back to it now in hopes of finding success.

All the lopsided comments, when weighed against the actual stats, just go to show how much the ducks are in our heads right now. Hopefully it's not the same case with the team as it is in many fans' heads.

with Lazar and Hamilton watching.
So how do those line-up?
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland Vs. Cogliano - Kesler - Silfverberg
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik Vs. Ritchie - Getzlaf - Eaves
Versteeg - Bennett - Chiasson Vs. Rakell - Vermette - Perry
Bouma - Stajan - Brouwer Vs. Wagner - Thompson - Shaw
I hope Lazar can draw in on that 4th line, because I think he and Brouwer showed some decent chemistry and that Anaheim 4th line could potentially get exposed if we match-up 4th Vs. 4th.

Key to the series, is how will the Flames 3rd & 4th line hold up against the Ducks.

That and can the 4th survive the occasional shift against the Ducks 1st and 2nd line in Anaheim

I'm actually excited.
Its go time for Stajan and Bennett and I hope they're preparing Lazar. I'm betting Lazar is going to be so stoked him and Bennett are going to be ready to eat raw meat. They're going to get out there and terrorize.

Some friends and I were talking about this during the last home game. Basically the two worst teams in the playoffs somehow ended up meeting in the first round. Seeing the contrast between the two rosters is pretty incredible.

Winners in the playoffs are determined by who steps up. For the Flames to be successful they need everyone throughout their lineup to play a meaningful role. Monahan, Ferland, Stajan, Brouwer, Bouma all need to become bigger factors. On the back end we need TJ Brodie to find a new gear and for Bartkowski to play physical without any mental lapses.
Flames can take the Ducks, but only if everyone does their part.

This is the "we hate the refs/no one is safe/yard sale every other game" series. Pity the officials this series as both teams will be having hotlines to department of safety over actions done in game.
Also helps that Brouwer has a series clinching goal vs Ana. Elliot's also a series winning goalie vs Ana. albeit on a strong St.louis team. Both teams want to bust out the whole Ezekiel 25:17 quote from pulp fiction.
This will go 7, and I feel that the Flames will take it.

Monahan finished the season with a whimper. Sure hope it's maintenance issues cause I was underwhelmed after that first game against the Ducks.
