I know they've improved their goal's for and goal's against by a significant margin, as well as the shots for and against...and their Goal differential has improved by a whopping +73

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Oh this is just too delicious...... I recall you being one of the drum thumpers about "Unsustainable" when the Flames went to the Playoffs 2 years ago.

31 year old Jiri Hudler had 19 more points than his previous career high of 57 points..which he set 6 years previous
Lance Bouma score more goals in the NHL than he ever did in junior
Kris Russell set an NHL record in shot blocks
Dennis Wideman set a career high in goals and assists
and not to mention all those 3rd period comebacks
and of course, their corsi numbers were some of the worst in the league (on par with the Avs of 2014)
very unsustainable

He was sort of right though? The Flames last season weren't nearly as good, people here think that Kris Russell is a pile a hot garbage who can't play the position, Wideman is a curse and Bouma is expansion bait. No one talks about Hudler and I don't know if he is even in the league anymore. The Flames went from making the playoffs to getting the sixth overall pick.
The Oilers likely won't be in contention for the pacific next year but that is still for the future to decide.

The Oilers are no good and don't you ever forget it.
This isn't a thread to talk about the Flames.

Exactly! This is a very important point that deserves emphasis.
This is the thread to relish, demonstrate and expand upon the inherent no-goodness of Edmonton and the Oilers (or, to argue about this obvious truism,if you so desire).
We have the whole rest of this forum to talk about how great or not-so-great the Flames might be.

So it's a fancy and made up stat now, but when the 2015/16 Flames had bad Corsi/Fenwick it was a legitimate metric. Gotcha, cool.
