True, but if we're being honest, the Ducks were terrible in that game and basically threw in the towel around the halfway mark. Every good team has at least one real stinker where they're not focused and get blown out and embarrassed, and that was theirs.

At this point I guess it doesn't really matter who we face, as both of those teams will be extremely tough to beat. Ducks really seem to have the Flames number these days, and we just have no answer for Getzlaf, Perry, and Kesler, which is why I'd prefer to face the Hawks by a slim margin. At least we've actually won a couple of games at the United Center in this decade.

If I had to pick, I would choose the Ducks.

Hawks are a far superior team in my opinion.

If the Ducks had to pick any of the teams in the West to play.... I bet they would choose the Flames.

For the Flames to have any chance, players like Troy Brouwer have to show up... (where was he last night)

Chicago. Way more fun.

First round Chicago, second round Oilers, third round Anaheim.
As they'd say in the Godfather, this year we settle all family team business.

That series order is completely impossible at this point.

Kind of surprised so many people want to face the Ducks and their home ice advantage considering the whole "can never win in Anaheim" thing. I'm not saying it's a curse, I'm saying when it's been 12 years and you can't win in someone's barn I wouldn't be rushing to face them there.

Sure, however the Hawks are probably the best team in the West.

Originally i would have though the top two teams were Sharks and the Hawks.

Is it just me or does it feel like the "Hate" towards the Ducks is more prevalent this year? I don't remember it being this strong back during the 2015 playoffs.

Don't get me wrong. I despise the Ducks but don't remember loathing them as much as I have recently.

Buildings that are tough to play in are usually the result of an awesome/loud crowd, and how much it pumps the home team up, giving them the advantage.

But this Honda Center curse is something else entirely. Anaheim has one of the lamest crowds in the NHL, even during playoffs, so it's definitely not a factor at all. It's just a sheet of ice, right? Same as every other rink. It really is crazy that the Flames haven't won there over so many years with so many different combinations of players. There really is no other explanation at this point other than that the building is just pure concentrated evil.

I have been saying Chicago for a while now (not that I am enamoured with either matchup) but after last night - I want the Ducks:
*Lost an extra top 4 defenceman to injury
*Games have been closer than they have looked on the scoresheet
*It will be the most electric atmosphere!

Imagine if the Flames draw the Ducks in round 1, then manage to win and draw the Oilers in round 2 - how intense would that be?

The Ducks - I wanted Edmonton, but I'd rather see them in round 2.

The Ducks are our dragon. We have to slay them to take the next step. No champion is scared of a matchup. The Blackhawks don't care who they play - they merk whoever they run into because they're the goddamn Chicago Blackhawks and you're not.

2015 was our Cloud City, and we lost an arm. 2017 is Return of the Jedi.

#### the Ducks. Kick em right in their stupid teeth, and a polite 'go #### yourself' to Ryan Kesler from everyone in the handshake line will do nicely.

Ho-lee am I ever ready for playoff hockey. This is so much better than rooting for draft position.

Oh, and #### Darth Vader

We've won there in the playoffs. The curse only applies to regular season.

Once.

And we still lost that series.

5 straight losses there since, for a 1-5 all time record.

Neither one please.

At this point why not Anaheim. Frick I want to play 112 straight games in that damn building of there's....if the Flames can't win one of those, than I quit.

Both of these teams are probably a bit salty from losing in round one last year.

That is interesting. I wonder how many games it would take straight for the Flames to finally win in that arena. It feels hopeless on a game to game basis but eventually you would think after maybe 4-5 games in a row something would give as we rarely see four game sweeps in best of seven game series even if they are mismatches.
