I think it's pretty simple. You can't shut him down. I'm not sure you can limit him much.
What you have to do is outscore that line with the rest of your team.

That's only partially true.
Crosby, Malkin, Kane, Toews etc aren't recent multiple cup winners from depth scoring alone. It's because they are the among the best players in the league. The Kings were multiple winners with a 'depth' scoring team, but I'm guessing that will happen less instead of more going forward.

Same stink... Edmonton is no good:
Quote:
Downtown residents dealing with smelly back alleys after Rogers Place concerts and Edmonton Oilers games might soon see relief.
City officials are hoping portable washroom trailers can give fans with full bladders a sanitary alternative.
“We’re in the playoffs now,” Mayor Don Iveson said Monday, pushing for a quick investment in addition to a long-term citywide plan. “There’s an urgency where issues are most acute. … I don’t want to wait a year for a strategy.”
Last year, 120 people were given $500 fines for urinating in public, with downtown seeing fines issued double in number to 52. Residents blame that on Rogers Place patrons, saying back alleys are extra smelly after games and concerts, but also on a lack of facilities for the homeless.

Oiler fans are less sanitary than the homeless: confirmed

Downtown Edmonton has always smelled like urine.
The only reason it's now news is that because of the arena people are actually spending time there instead of it just being a urine soaked ghost town most of the time.

Edmonton's next step is to start up the "is it dog or human" game ala San Francisco.

I admit that I haven't been to New York in a long time.
but iirc at night there were piles of garbage because buildings weren't allowed to have underground dumpsters.
But I also remember getting up in the morning and all of the trash was gone and the sidewalks were cleaned.
However there was nothing worse at night then going out for a late night stroll or sitting in a bar having a drink and the smell of gently decaying garbage.

Our frequent contributor to this thread, David Staples, with another Kool-Aid chugging piece this morning. In it, he somehow manages to point out that Griffin Reinhart has fallen the most on the Hockey News prospect list, but it is okay because while David was catching him on the internet, Griffin Reinhart is playing the best that Staples has seen. Mr. Staples considers that today, Reinhart is a 5-6 dman, and with a bit of work with Scott Stevens, could be a 3-4. The problem with that is that Scott Stevens isn't Oilers alumni, so couldn't possibly get offered the role. Kevin Lowe knows a thing or two, so maybe Reinhart should work with him instead.
FWIW, Flames have 4 in the top 100 (Tyler Parsons, 34, Jon Gillies, 49, Mark Jankowski, 66, Oliver Kylington, 96), while "Los Angeles has just two" (to quote Staples), the same as the Greasers.

That is not what this thread is about. This fourth iteration of a thirteen year project has always been a well deserved tribute to Edmonton Oilers ineptitude, and it is gloriously funny and enjoyable. A good season after a full decade of futility does not change that.
Edmonton is no good.
