So it begins.. i am genuinely worried about the rest of our players now too. Could not have come at a worse time as we are coming into thr final strech of games

The incubation period for mumps is 10 to 25 days. I think we last played the Wild or Canucks outside that time window; is that correct? If so it had to come from somewhere else.

Yikes, the last thing this team needs is for the mumps to start spreading through the locker room during this last stretch. Hopefully Ferland being under observation is just a precautionary measure and he's just got the flu.

Damn don't like hearing the mumps is a possibility for Ferland. Last thing this team needs right now is that going through the room.

Either way huge game and need a win tonight. I think a regulation win tonight would pretty much seal it imo. Excited to see what lazar brings tonight. Go flames Go!

I never looked into this Mumps outbreak much but isn't there a vaccine? How many man games did the wild and canucks lose to it?

Bad news for the Flames. Hopefully it stays an isolated case.

I'd have to look again but 2 shots of the vaccine (as a baby and a booster later in life) is like 88% effective.

Never mind, observation for mumps confirmed by sureness.

(but yes, always more likely that it's the flu, although not necessarily better from a hockey team perspective. Better from a society perspective)

At the risk of being too pedantic, the game is at 7:30pm MDT, not MST.

My first post... Go Flames.

Nervous about this game... it's going to be great. We lose one game against Boston and were out of second and into a wild card spot - that's how tight this is going to be - which makes this time of the year great.

This reminds me of our last game against the Kings in 2015 - that was a great game that got us into the playoffs - this one is not quite as final - but important nonetheless. We've been playing hard of late - and that's all we can ask for.
