No, it's based on win %.

Calgary: 29 wins / 30 games = .967
Pittsburgh: 30 wins / 31 games = .968

It's dumb though. It should be points %.

Did you see Brodie appologizing at the end of the game? Felt so sorry for him when it happened, he's so dependable.

Yeah, seems kind of arbitrary.

Flames pull off their own version of St Perfect's Day with a win.

There is no loser points. If it wasn't for bonus points being awarded for 3v3 and a skills competition after being tied in regulation we'd be below the oilers. I get that's not a popular opinion around here, but if anyone has benefited from bonus points it's us.

Compare regulation losses with those teams

It's funny because in it's own way, this take is a loser point.

The NHL is structured in a way that we've continued to excel at, and in doing so, won those games.

The teams we're talking about have not, yet were still rewarded with points despite losing.

It's also ironic, considering being rewarded for losing is Edmonton's hallmark over the last decade.

First game I've been too since the beginning of the season. Really enjoyed getting to see some of the new guys in person.

After I get a Ferland, if Stone re-signs I'll likely get one of his jerseys. Just absolutely solid.

I'm on the opposite side. The Flames won their games, the other suckers lost theirs. Maybe the other teams competing for spots should realise 3 on 3 and shootouts DO exist and try to win them to get points in the standings.

Points for losses are lame though.

I just logged in to say Tkachuk is a beast. The way he plays the game, I can't believe he is only 19 years old.

Yeah, all that on Tkachuk and he gets hit in the back of the head with a puck. Scary moment.

I said he would be back out and there he was. For a 3-0 game, he is clutch, plays beyond his years. A pleasure to watch.

Was at the game today and the atmosphere was definitely the best of any of the games i have been to this year. The score really flattered the stars as it could have easily been 5 or 6-1. Great game to have gone to. Only negative was the pos that pushed a pregnant lady down a few rows of seats at the end of the game. Hope he gets some jailtime at least

Tkachuk needs to thank his lucky stars. I remember Daymond Langkow got hit by a puck at the back of his neck while playing for the Flames and he was out a full calendar year.....

He was ranked as the number 2 skater in North America.
He was drafted 6th. It was amazing when he was not drafted 3rd let alone Vancouver passing on him at fifth.

In the years to come during the re draft segements on sport channel's this will definitely be shown as their lose Calgarys gain.
