Default Favorite city/place that you ever visited.

I've done a little bit of travelling in my days and I find that I like visiting the big cities in different country's and seeing what they have etc...

I've been fortunate enough to see a few places in my day.

Of all the places my favorite one was Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Not for the faint of heart, but a really cool place. I was there for just over a week a few years back, and of course part of that was during the great Brazillian version of carnival. I'm sure the atmosphere at the time clouds my opinion, but I loved the sights and scenery, the beaches, and just the general vibe of the city. If you have a bit of experience travelling and can get around in a place where you don't need everyone to speak English, I reccommend it. I would also reccommend to stick to an area like Ipanema as your base as it's a much safer part of the city, but during busier times of the day you can go to most of the area's and it's relatively safe.

What are some other great cities that CP'ers have been to?

For me it would be Berlin. Just something about that city that I love. The vibe is electric. Just love it!! Krakow Poland comes in second.

Amsterdam is definately up there. Great place to go if you are in your 20s......

Anywhere in Germany is also a lot of fun. Lots of beer gardens and always some kind of party going on some where. Great historical sites as well.

India is also a pretty cool place, if you are visiting........

St. Petersburg. Just the history behind that city is amazing - plus being able to see old communist Russia to the Czar. The Hermitage. The Naval Influence. The Church of Spilled Blood. Leningrad Monument. The Summer Palace. The Museum with the deformed babies. The zoology museum (basically just jam packed full of stuffed animals - every possible animal it seemed like - 15 million they say).

Plus they got rid of all the homeless and shipped them off before the G8 so it was great.

Fraserburgh Scotland was also neat.

Well I've been everywhere man. I've been everywhere, even got some--whoops sheesh get that song out of my head.

It's an easy answer even though I've been to a lot of places and lived in some very interesting ones.

SINGAPORE

Can't imagine how you could match it? Fabulous weather, water, beauty, tons of stuff to do, cool stuff from all over the world in the stores. So clean and well run. Very interesting culturally. Has it all.

Costa Rica - no ifs ands or buts (actually many fine spanish feminista hotties buts).

EDIT - oh yah, forgot the land of chocolate, where you can eat lamp posts and dogs, both which are made out of chocolate.

I would also like to add that our very own Banff and Canmore are always great getaways. I love the little town that they have and love the mountains and the nature. I think a lot of Canadians take these spots for granted sometimes.

Arica, Chile

Good, cheap food, alcohol, shopping, unreal beaches, AMAZING nightlife, gorgeous men, beautiful women. Very cultured, tons of fun.

Can go in our summers to ski there...(southern hemisphere so opposite seasons) or in our winters to do the summer stuff (but then you'd miss hockey!)

I'd have to put Barcelona and Rome right up there.

New Orleans, LA.

Was there about 1 year before the hurricane. Loved everything about it there.

Grand Cayman was my favorite tropical island.

good choices so far. I would echo many of them

I 'm mostly only familiar with NA and Europe...but if could have, say 3 days, in any city my shortlist would likely include Prague, NYC, Montreal, London and San Francisco
