It is the end of an era. The Colorado Avalanche have traded long time player, Jason Spezza.

The Avalanche have worked out a trade with the Buffalo Sabres to bring in Ryan Getzlaf and Jason Spezza is no longer a member of the Avalanche.

To Colorado:
Ryan Getzlaf
2018 2nd (buf)

To Buffalo:
Jason Spezza
Josh Morrissey

With the Avalanche playing extremely well this year, this is a sign they are going all in. Look for them to make some big splashes to upgrade this team.

This deal went back and forth a little bit. Thanks to Pat for hanging in there with me. I wanted a future piece and I'm very high on Morrissey for the future. This year I've gone from Thornton to Getzlaf to Spezza as my #1 C. If I keep going this direction I'll finish the season with Ryan Callahan.
