Remember when 5.75 million was seen as expensive?
23 year old with projected 50+ points as a Defenseman. Brodie was still a year away from his break out season at 23. Giordano was still a year away from his KHL year at 23. we get to hear about how Wotherspoon or Kulak may be able to get in the NHL and still seen as prospects, who are also Hamilton's age. People seem to forget how young he still is.
We have a star here. It took him a little bit to get his groove, but people are way too quick to jump on a young player as if he was already washed up.

I honestly don't even remember the last time he made a glaring mistake. Earlier in the season he was making at least one a game and in the last 20 games I can't even remember one.
And he's a lot more physical this season. We have something special with him.

He sure has shone and grown overall with his new partner. Reminds me of a young Cory Sarich.

It's not about points, it's about a 16 game plus streak.
It wasn't trying to say Sarich was Hamilton, more that Gio is the #### and makes his partners better
Gio and Sarich were the damn best on the second pairing.

I have little doubt there's a Norris or 2 in his UPPITY future?

the guy had an awful start to the year and the questions of his play in his own zone were well deserved.
6 pts / 19 games / -7 / 1 ppp
since....
33 pts / 41 games / +10 / 11 ppp
totally different player. can understand that new coaches, new systems, new partner might have had to do with it....but the criticism was deserved as is the commendation now. hopefully, he keeps playing like a stud.

No, it wasn't.
Clearly you haven't read the first part of this thread. It wasn't "wow he's starting slow"... it was largely a small very vocal minority (as they often are) talking about how he's over-rated, won't turn out as projected, and that it was a bad trade. Someone even suggested they'd have preferred we kept the 15OA pick.
There is nothing about the motivation that created this thread or the over-dramatics in the early pages that was deserved. It was as awful and short sighted then as it is now looking back at it.

Don't look back at it because I'm busy. But what do you mean, we? Clearly by your name and join date you are a Jets fan.

Nope, there were no Jets when I made this account. It was akin to picking a name like GoWhalersGo at the time.
Not sure what that has to do with anything though. Also seems like you're responding to my post like you're robaur, who I was talking to. Just an odd response all the way around.

Comparing Hamilton to Sarich might be more ridiculous than the time Tkachuk was compared to Yelle.

I don't really see sarich comparison. In my opinion he's more like a ginger Joe Colborne who doesn't suck and plays defence.
