I think they win tonight 4-2. Last game before the break had Johnny scoring the GWG and that reminded me of when they had that big win against LA a couple years back that got them going. I think Johnny's last goal will be a similar catalyst for the whole team getting it together and going on a run.

Would rather see Ferland where Chiasson is.

Would rather see Hathaway in and Chiasson out. The entire team seems to have more energy when Hathaway plays.

True.. Was thinking about it more and I'd actually much prefer to have Brouwer with them over Chiasson at least. So hopefully it works out ok.

He's still in a no-contact jersey, so assuming at least a week away.

I don't get the 3M line back together after a solid game with Frolik split out in Ottawa.

Confidence is not high. 5-0 Wild but maybe someone actually beats the **** out of one of the slash masters on this team.

Refs decide to call hand slashes today...

Flames Go 25/53 on the Powerplay, and win 34-2.

I wouldn't cry if Staal gets a couple cracks on the knuckles in this one.

Although I have to say, he's been one of the best July 1st Free Agent signings in recent years. Not as good as Ryan Suter was, but getting a top two center who can produce like he has for that price was a schrewd move.

Flames have 4 games before their 5 day break. During that 5 day break, teams will make up their games in hand, so in order for the Flames to still be in the mix after that 5 day break, they need to get these points. 6 out of 8 points should be the goal, but 5 is probably more realistic.

Has interest in the team reached an all-time low?

Guess it is a 8pm weeknight game, against a low draw team... even though Min is a great team this year.

Lowest re-sale ticket prices Ive seen all year.

The re-sale market has been weak all year for even better draws than the Minnesota Wild.

That's a little ridiculous, Minny won't score twice.

I figured having the Flames win by 34 goals was a little bit over the top.

I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere, but I assume Elliott is starting since they're on the "Win and you're In" mantra. He played well in Ottawa before the break and if they have any hope of making the playoffs, that will need to continue. This year more than previous it seems as the goalies go, so do the Flames.

Minny is very good this season. I feel good about tonight's game though with the Flames winning 3-2 in a shootout.

In fact, Elliott has had 2 games out of his last 4 starts that were good. He wasn't good in Toronto (at least not for the 2nd and 3rd). But in the OT loss to Edmonton he was fine. I wish he would have started against Florida, because it maybe took some of his momentum for the next game against Nashville, which was bad.

IMO he's caught Johnson as far as quality is concerned over their respective last 8 or so starts each.

Flames lose 5-1, Wild are looking good and are one of the hottest teams in the league.

That so called hot team has also lost twice to the flames this year
