If they replace him, just please do it this season so we can get that 20 games of #### out of the way this year as opposed to the start of next year.

Glen Gulutzan used the word "crumble" four times here to describe how the Flames respond to adversity in a game.

@ArponBasu:
Gulutzan: "We were pathetic. It was a pathetic display. No bite back, no kick back, accept it. Right down, our top guys didn’t do anything.”
edit: Full quote of jab at 4th line, I guess emotions were running high for him... didn't think it was possible... nor did I think he could ever be mad at Chiasson

Subtle jab at the 4th line buried in Gulutzan rant. Trio in question (with shift length) were Chiasson (1:40), Bouma (0:55), Stajan (0:55).

Uninspired hockey is the perfect definition of the Flames team. No emotion! No push back! Just a bunch of sad faces on the bench waiting for the game to end quickly. We quit coach! That seems to be the message.

It's time to seriously question the leadership on this team. We need a Mark Messier style leader who isn't afraid to hold players accountable for their poor effort and push them to play with some emotion. Cleary Gio is not that man when you read his post game comments during this losing streak. Give the "C" to someone else!

Here's what Ed wanted to happen...

1) strip Gio of "C"
2) let the kids loose and play
3) leave Johnny in the Eastern time zone
4) fire the coach

Pretty ambitious. Haha

The team just can't do nothing right.

No offense, bad defense, hilleresque goaltending.

Troy Brouwer has done absolutely nothing since he got here. 4.5 million bucks and provides no offense, leadership or toughness.

Exposing him at the expansion draft has to be seriously looked it.

Does that about cover the standard comments we'll hear from the players and coaching staff?
You nailed it. Same typically BS. They will also say it with a smirk as they cash there game checks for $50,000 and hit up the clubs.

Just finished watching this game. Tough to get through it all; a lot of fast-forwarding was involved

I must have missed how apparently terrible that fourth line shift was on the first goal against. Not sure what Gulutzan was so upset about there

Gaudreau was the goat. Just terrible. If you had suggested benching him a couple of weeks ago I would have laughed in your face, but I think a game or two off is in order.

They were never gonna win this goaltending battle but the Flames really need someone to step up in net. Was the Johnson streak only serendipitous?

PP has quickly gone downhill and the even-strength scoring issues have been unmasked.

Looks like I was wrong about Ferland.

WHy so little icetime if he wasn't injured?

Recently, we've been outscoring the opposition after the first 4 goals.

Ferland doesn't PK or PP.

Yeah, I was thinking cumulatively, but even then it doesn't work out.

NSH (after 4-0) = 1-3
EDM (after 3-1) = 4-2
TOR (after 4-0) = 0-0
MTL (after 4-0) = 1-1

On a road trip in Ontario right now with a bunch of Oilers fans and a Habs fan. Watched the game at a pub in Kingston tonight, it was unbearable. Flames need to start showing showing some pride because right now it's awfully hard to defend them.

I see.

Sadly all 4 games were 4-0 to start. EDM and MTL went up 5-0 actually

When your goalies can't make a save you're gonna have a bad time.

This same team played worse under Hartley last year but fans were more forgiving because it was more fun to watch. It does feel like if our GM is "old school" we're coming up on a firing or a shake up trade but that never really happens anymore right?
It wasn't just because it was more fun to watch. The 'atrocious' goaltending was seen as a legitimate reason last season. For me, it was a solid stretch of around 120 games or so before last season where this team played really hard and seemed to have an identity. It made it at least plausible that it was a hiccup last year.

Gulutzan doesn't have that track record on the Flames, or even in the NHL as a coach, so people are less likely to believe this bad stretch is a hiccup.
