I'd like to see more heart injected into this team, If it means bringing up some prospects from the farm, then so be it. Something has change quickly or we can kiss any playoff chances goodbye.

Retro night eh? Was this a throwback to Nov 12 when we looked like hot garbage against the Rangers? Way to get your head kicked in by your provincial rivals. Yeah they got off to a quick start but this was never close after that.

I hope they start calling up some youngsters after this debacle. Give them a chance -- people need to start playing for jobs this season and next. They look way too comfortable out there.

Every frickin team in this league is standing 3 or 4 guys behind their blue lines waiting for the Flames to turn over. How do the Flames not practice the most basic dump and chase or dump and crash? This team truly needs bigger player as they're getting owned in basically all zones against team chasing them or teams above them in the standings. What a frickin mediocre team!

Team needs a real starting goal tender...not pinning it all on them but this should NOT have been a 6-3 game with competent goal tending.

Elliott blew the start of the season...Chad had a decent run but he will never be a starter and has played too much

Bishop? Flames are out goal tended almost every single game

Will they be sending us a gift basket?

Well, awful showing in an important game again. All we can hope for is that this big loss against a rival lights a huge fire under their gdamn asses and they go on a nice run to the end of the year. If it doesn't and they don't show at least some consistent effort level... then... that would be sad. sadsadsad.

Truth is, the Flames played hard tonight, came out with energy, and controlled more of the play, from shots and blocked shots.

What needs to be answered is from that;

- why so few quality chances from all that possession
- why the ratio of quality chances for the Oil on their limited possession.
- And frankly, Johnson was also junk.
All that advanced stats stuff is overrated IMO. The Oilers had way better scoring chances all game and buried them, the Flames didn't. Most of the Flames offense came from the perimeter and weren't really a threat to score at all.

In his effort to create a tough, hard to play against team, Treliving has iced the softest Flames team ever

No they didn't, they were well ahead on possession from the get go.

Gulutzan's system reminds me a whole lot of former Penguins coach Mike Johnston, sometimes it works well most often it sucks the life right out of the team.

The icing on the cake was pulling the goalie with 3 minutes left for the score to go 7-3. Can someone explain this boneheaded move to allow an additional goal for no other than humiliation purposes?? Let's not pretend this game was within reach for us to come back.

If anybody truly believes that load of garbage they can tell me in person tomorrow. I am taking out Gisele for steak and lobster while Tom Brady plays the Steelers tomorrow.

To add to this, for the most part the Flames didn't work all that hard to get to the middle of the ice, at the same time they easily surrendered the middle of the ice to the Oilers.

That's just not true. The flames had 6 of the first 9 shots and were the better skaters. Unfortunately by that time they were down 2 zip by that point. Even adjusting for score effects the flames held the balance of possession. Key breakdowns and awful goaltending once again sinks the ship
