			Screw the oilers.
I'd be very happy to see McDavid get absolutely crunched some how tonight.

Would be nice if at least a few of Monahan, gaudreau, Bennet, giordano, brodie bring it tonight. They all have disappointed of late.

 Go Flames Go!

I should clarify: I'm not so convinced that Elliott specifically "petitioned" for a start so much as Gulutzen has read the situation as one in which Elliott relishes—and needs the opportunity to redeem himself.

I don't think this is a bad idea.

The only faintly dim glimmer of hope is hopefully he's motivated to avenge those losses. Also he doesn't have to worry about Grossman giveaways this time.

Johnson has lost 6 of 8. Elliott has won 5 of 6.
Do we really need to be that concerned that Johnson isn't starting?

Why is this a "faintly dim glimmer of hope"? I think it is actually an eminently reasonable expectation.

Flames are gonna pummel those ####ing losers from up north. Today begins the slide back to mediocrity for that joke of a franchise. Oilers get pumped so hard we will be looking back at this game like when Hartley destroyed Torts' pshyche a few years ago.

I'm not worried, two months ago maybe but I think Elliott will be just fine. We need the team to play better if we have a hope to win this game, obvious but simple enough. If we lose tonight it won't be Elliott's fault. More likely because we couldn't shutdown McDavid and our top players were poopy again.
JG, Gio, Brodie and Monahan need a good performance in order for us to win.

I hope Tkachuk, Brouwer, Hathaway hit and cause a ruckus as often as they can.

The bi-polar idiocy that goes on these days after a bad game is beyond belief.

Here are the records of the two teams since last they met after game 2 of the season:

EDM: 20-15-7 / 47P / 114GF / 113GA / +1
CAL.: 23-18-2 / 48P / 111GF / 111GA / 0

After a 7-1-1 start, where they had 6 at home, never left Canada, and never spent a night on the road, they are since:

15-14-6 for a .514 WP

The Flames, after an abysmal 5-10-1 start, have since gone:

18-10-1 for a .638 WP

The Oilers are definitely not a better team. Last night was a bad game, but step off the ledge and relax.

Did you watch those games?

In any case, I don't buy the "Elliott is motivated for this game" line of thinking. His poor play has been due to a lack of caring?
