It is what it is, outplayed them but Miller was on. Destroy them tmrw and all is right again. Terrible game by Gio.

Meh...
Flames played alright. Weren't able to capitalize on their chances. Gave up a few good chances due to brain farts that the canucks managed to bury. I have been hard on elliott but can't put the blame on him tonight.
2 points in regulation tomorrow or I'll be quite upset.

Frustrating dominating that much and coming away empty handed. Anything less than 4 points in this home and home is an absolute disappointment. However, give credit to Miller, he was brilliant and the Flames were unlucky and the Canucks were lucky. It's hockey and it will happen. Just get them tomorrow! I would be more concerned if the Canucks dominated us the way we dominated them but it was just an off game.
Go Flames!

Since Nov 1, Eliott has won against: Arizona, Vancouver, Colorado, Arizona, Colorado
Since Nov 1, Eliott has lost against: Vancouver, Chicago, LA, Dalla, NYR, Buffalo, NYI
My conclusion is that he can't win a game against a playoff calibre team. We need to address the goaltending situation

Elliott was bad tonight. Only the fourth goal he had no chance. First two goals had no business going in.
Hopefully the ball goes back to Johnson and he runs with it.

Flames didn't do what they needed to do to counter the 'nucks defence. The collapse to the net, get sticks in lanes and generally just get in the way style of play reminds me so much of the old Minnesota games. Blech. But they won doing it.
That said, that style of play for the 'nucks is not sustainable. Miller can't be that good every night, so eventually they'll have to pay for it.
Tomorrow the Flames have to grind the goal - they were horrible at that tonight - and they need to get better passing. They were the better team, had crappy puckluck and ran into a hot goalie.
Shrug and move on. And change your style for tomorrow.

That was easily the most frustrating game of the season. Even more than the game in Edmonton in October when McDoofy was awarded the penalty shot.
Flames played well enough to win, but Miller stood on his head and our top players made some really dumb decisions (I'm lookin' at you, Gio and Johnny). Really liked that the Flames didn't throw in the towel after the 4th goal. They kept pushing and were rewarded as a result with Frolik's goal. Play like that tomorrow and they'll get the W. They just need to simplify things offensively in regards to their decision making.
And color me surprised, but John Garrett just ripped the Canucks for their mediocre play in this game, even despite the win.

Miller should get all 3 stars tonight. He was the difference in the game tonight.
The above being said a few breaks here or there and we most likely win. For example Gaudreau misses an open net in the first that could have made it a 2-0 lead.
Love the way the Flames enter the zone on the PP with that drop pass. The puck movement is excellent and created a lot of excellent scoring chances.

Just saw the replay of the goals and yes I would agree a couple of the Vancouver goals should have been saved. Only making 9 saves on 13 shots is not a recipe for success and Miller clearly outplayed Elliott tonight and that was the difference plain and simple.

Giordano better show up tomorrow. His tendency to give the puck away this year is really concerning.
Elliot should be back to where he belongs, on the bench.
2 players cost us tonight. Unfortunate because that was the most dominating game I've witnessed the Flames play in a long long time. It was like they were on the PP from the start of the 2nd period.

Other than the first goal it's pretty hard to fault Elliott on the other three.

With this goaltending, we are not going anywhere. We might make the playoffs but we will get destroyed with this goaltending.

Hahaha. Okay.
Even if I believed there was actually a "goaltending situation" in Calgary, there is no way any changes are made this season. The Flames will end the year with Elliott and Johnson splitting games.

Too bad. If Stajan would've scored on that short-handed shot as he bumped Miller, it would've been a good goal.
Sounds like so many other things also going against the Flames conspired to produce this ####ty outcome too.

Are you kidding?
You have to expect your goalie to make a few tough saves and snag the odd weird deflection.
