It's not over though, there's a relegation tournament. So... who's coaching them?

Fire him when he gets home. Do an exit interview.

The tournament is over. Try and act like this isnt Comedy Club Amateur Hour.

Damage done. Move along.

What is to be gained by firing him immediately? Saving his airfare?

They also play tomorrow against the Swiss if I'm not mistaken.

I think for a team like Finland that has such high expectations each year it is incredibly embarrassing to be relegated and the immediate firing is more sending a message to everyone that such a result is never going to be tolerated, plain and simple.

For people that enjoy this tournament imagine your country not taking place in it next year because your team didn't show up this year. I feel for them. Lots of solid Finnish talent you won't get to see next year because of this effort.

Bad for the tournament too because the nation taking Finland's spot will just get served another 10-2 blow out from the more competitive teams and people won't tune in

Fins will be back next year. As bad as they've been, good odds to best Latvia in a best of three.
