Win the period. Don't allow any more. At least save some face and show some progression in terms of push back.
This and the CBJ game have been demoralizing. I want this team to be able to ####ing compete! Ugh.

I think Chad has been good tonight. Only one goal that he maybe should have had.

Oh please. He made great saves before the team fell asleep and it all began with a garbage shift by Bouma. He's been caught out there way too long a few times tonight. No idea why they played him over Hathaway. All he does is throw a hit once in a while and is out of position the rest of the time.

The score wouldn't be any different with Elliott in net. Flames were hemmed in almost the entire period.

Wideman played a great D shift that was pointed out. He's made some really nice breakout passes including the Backlund breakaway. Until that missed pass he hadn't really made a mistake. He made another by missing a check leading to the last goal, but that doesn't happen if Backlund doesn't give the puck away first.

JJ has lost a ton of board battles, keeps just ringing the puck and has looked a step behind. He and Engelland have been hemmed in a fair bit. I'd say they've been the worst pairing tonight.

Don't think I can watch the 3rd. This is just too painful. Flames are back to being an average to slightly below-average hockey team, which is maybe what they were all along. The 6-game winning streak gave me hope that they could run with some of the best teams in the league, but since then they've been pretty unremarkable, and also downright terrible like tonight. That 3-day break may have been the worst thing that could've happened to these guys.

Bouma should be the 13th forward that sees ice once every 7 or 8 games at this point. He hasn't brought anything notable for a season and a half. Last season was on injuries. But eventually it's no longer and excuse man..

Play for the Monahan streak. Play for a third period win. Bust the shutout.

Honestly, as long as we don't get that travesty of a 2nd period in the 3rd I won't get too mad.
