He hurts us directly by making Brodie second guess everything he does.

If Johnson didn't bail him out, that is. He's costing us lots of chances, just because they don't always turn into goals doesn't mean it's not a problem. If he did anything positive at the other end of the ice to make up for it like he did two years ago, then fine, but he isn't.

Kulak was pretty bad against Detroit so I'm okay with it

I feel Brodie has looked better since being paired with Wideman.

I agree. I like Joki, but if you're gonna put him in, replace Wideman, not Brett.

We can't trade Wideman if he never plays for us again. If Brodie can carry Engelland to the 2nd round of the playoffs, he can carry Wideman for a few weeks in November/December.

Sure, no issue with that, but Kulak sitting?

didn't particularly like Kulak yesterday, so fine by me. Would have prefered to have Wideman back in the press box though obviously.

I admit I'm biased though. Once that awful contract comes off the books, I'll celebrate Austrian style and kill a whole keg.

Kulak and Engelland were horrible yesterday. Makes sense to give Kulak a game off. He seems to struggle after a while until he gets a game or a few off then he's good again.

I agree. I don't think he needs to play 25 minutes a night, but Im okay with Wideman playing over Jokipakka

Kulak was the weak link last game so if they're going to sit someone, it should be him. He'll be back in the lineup soon enough

Kulak wasn't that bad. I thought Wideman played much worse, but I guess the "he didn't hurt us" mentality prevails.

We're due to score some goals eventually, right? Elliott might help us out a bit.

I think Elliott will be just fine, and its probably good to get him in now. Barring a shutout, however, I go back to Johnson next game and stick with him until he does poorly or the next back-to-back.

Need to keep this going and string together a long win streak to set things right. 10 games. Win 10 games in a row.
Fans need to accept that the Flames aren't likely to erase this giant hole (if they are going to erase it, which is unlikely) with a giant win streak and get it done in one fell swoop. While I'll love it if that happened, and it would be far easier on our mindsets if it did, it's not a reasonable expectation.

This team is going to need to be one of the best teams in hockey from here until the end of the season to erase this deficit and be in the mix come the last 30 days. Melt downs after every loss we take because we feel like we need to string together crazy long win streaks is not going to help.

This team is going to be chasing right to the end if this is going to happen, we need to accept that and not expect perfection.
