Isn't this the guy that was saying he was being under utilized under Hartley ? I understand moving him to wing, but on the 4th line ? I hate this coach.

Edit - you beat SureLoss! Haha

Sure, let's just throw our 4th overall pick on a line with two jabronis, on his off position. Recipe for success.

This coach, man.

3rd line.

Ferland-Hamilton-Hathaway the 4th tonight.

If they want to use him on the wing, where he has had some success, then put him back with Backlund & Frolik. Tkachuk w/ Stajan on the 3rd line.

Good for BB to say nice things.

What he is really thinking is "they are completely disorganized and we are going to exploit that and lay a beating on them tonight"

Amongst the doom & gloom here I'm predicting a 5-3 Flames win with Bennett & Gaudreau getting multiple points each.

According to Wills' twitter, Shinkaruk is out tonight. I don't get that move. He brought some energy last game and set up Vey and Hamilton for a couple great scoring chances. Why not see if he can help spark the Monahan line and put him on RW - would like to see players get rewarded for good play.

Gotta think big picture, this will help with getting Bennett on a dirt cheap bridge deal next year. Yeesh. I'm a fan of Bennett on the wing but damn son, he can't get top six minutes? And why not RW, the real position of need?

Brouwer is going to the top line iirc - which in my opinion should have happened weeks ago.

Sounds like BB is drinking the kool-aid that GG brought to the picnic.
Sounds like Boudreau thinks Hartley is still the coach. That is something very true about the last couple of seasons for the Flames. IIRC, Darryl Sutter said something along the same lines, and even added that Calgary scares him as they can score at any time. This year's Flames have been neutered.

I was going to be optimistic about tonight's game, thinking that "even bad teams get a win, and the Flames aren't a bad team, but just a horribly under-performing one."

With the D pairings and even the forward line combos, I don't know what to think. I was all for Brodie getting some 'development' on the left side about 10 games ago, but this is the wrong time to try and force players out of their natural position. It is uncomfortable enough losing so much - everyone must be holding their sticks more tightly and second-guessing themselves with a lack of confidence. To make them constantly adjust to different positions and line mates on top of this?

If Bennett is going to play wing (which I don't agree with), then he needs to be put on the top line. He would at least give that line some forechecking capability, and his skill level is definitely high enough to work well with Gaudreau and Monahan. At least put him with Backlund and Frolik so that he can see where a center should go defensively.

My thoughts on what the first step of fixing what is wrong with the Flames? Someone needs to sneak into the coach's office and steal that lotto ball machine. I am sure every player's number goes into that thing and as the balls pop out, that is how the lines and pairings are set.

Win or lose, make this interesting. That is all I ask. Score some goals, hit some Wild jerseys out there on the ice, and make me say "ooh" and 'ahhh' a few times on the offensive and defensive ends, and I will be happy enough for now.

That was embarassing to fans GG going live on facebook. The guy has no awnsers and cannot wrap his mind around the fact some players actually are more comfortable playing the off-side. God damning GG. I can't wait to see you go already.

Cause we need to get Chaisson going.

Bennett wing is interesting to me because it opens up a possibility of a Janko callup..
But please not with Chiasson and Stajan... WTF? That line is going to last 5 shifts before coach realizes it is useless.

My give-a-crap meter regarding this team is at an all time low right now. After the loss to Dallas I told myself I needed a break from these guys for a few games, and I'm gonna hold myself to that. I won't be watching tonight simply out of protest.

Prediction: 4-2 Minny.

I'm also kinda surprised Kulak isn't sitting after his last game.. Hope he has a better game.
