Use some or all of it to build a wall. A great big beautiful wall.

Isn't it great that millions of Arizona tax payers are being robbed at gunpoint so that a few hundred fans can have an expensive hobby subsidized by everyone else?
Fantastic news! lol

Better or worse than doing it so the owners can make more money?

I felt the same until recently. I went to the new building in Edmonton and while everything was a lot nicer and updated than the Dome, it still had its share of inconveniences and my experience of the event was not impacted by the time I spent out of my seat.
I'm now 100% against any public funding for an arena. Run the Saddledome into the ground for all I care.

Cool. Good job Ken King.

Just two? NYI, Edmonton, Vegas, Detroit, and now Arizona.
I bet Seattle gets finished before ours and gets a team . Was QC started after the first talks about our new arena? I bet they get a team before our new arena is finished too.
Any others?

It's still the vast vast majority that doesn't benefit from it

You'd think they could at least photoshop jerseys onto the fans instead of slapped together the logo looks on the stock t-shirts.
As far as the building rendering though, personally, I like it.

I like the building too, it feels very Arizona
I wonder when Flames fans will get renders like this

Yes because its a public good here. People care about hockey. There's hundreds of thousands of fans who are heavily invested in it, and it makes up our city culture in Canada.
This is just an expensive hobby for literally a few hundred die hard fans and a couple thousand fairweather fans.

I'm with you there. I was in Edm during the preseason and a friend had an extra ticket to a game there. I figured it was a good opportunity to check out a new rink. Yes it was nice and shiny, but I was quite surprised that the bathroom lineups were just as bad as they are at the dome. Concourse crowding was still an issue to a degree as well. I found the overall experience really no different than attending a game at the dome. For all the bluster I dont see a new arena adding anything meaningful to attending a Flames game other than depleting my wallet of more funds.
I did laugh at the ivory tower fishbowl that the GM and other hangers on (McTavish) sits/stands in up above though. (press level)

If you really want the authentic Coyotes game experience, the fans should have jerseys from around the league from teams that aren't even playing.
