Ya i expected them to at least be right there fighting for a playoff spot. I remember Friedman or Hrudey saying on the radio they though the Flames would be the best team in Canada. I shouldn't have said "top in the division" lol

I disagree. Just because Monahan hasn't started the season great doesn't mean he's not going to be the better player in the future. He's had three great season for us. In all three seasons he has had 20+ goals, including his rookie year. And I know the argument is made that he benefits from playing with Johnny but for the first year Gaudreau didn't join the team until April. I think his back injury forced him a couple steps behind.

I can see exactly why the Flames will keep GG around longer than they should. And probably why they hired him. He says all the right things, makes it sound sincere and convincing.
But talk is cheap. And execution is a completely different matter with this guy.
