Default Whats Your Best Flames Keepsake?

Thought I would start this thread to see what everyone has.

Personally my best stuff is a framed pic of Theo signed with his signed hockey card also in the frame, as well as a flames jersey(old school) signed by Lanny, Pepper and Vernie.

What do u guys have?

Hard to choose for me. Ive amassed alot of Flames crap over the years. My Kevan Guy stuff is probably my 'best' (in my eyes anyway). Ive got his game worn jersey, game used stick and the name plates off his locker room stall.

My signed Makarov jersey is pretty sweet too. Thanks for the trade rico!

Oh, and Wamsley's stick he broke in the Flames vs. Khimik USSR game Dec 8th 1989. Still have the ticket stub too. Thats pretty sweet.

I have all kinds of Flames stuff too, but probably my best keepsake is a poster of the 1989 Stanley Cup Flames that is personally autographed by the whole team.

Most sentimental value? A Flames penant that my dad got me for my very first Flames game.

Flames lost to the Blackhawks

I had something from the darkages that I wouldn't like to bring up... I went to a pre-season game a couple years ago (Pre lockout, we blew out Minnesota 6-0 I think)... Steve Montador, Dany Sabourin and someone else signed this flames flag... but... all three players are gone now...

My first trip to the Saddledome, me, my brother and my dad. Bought two little replica banners, Stanley Cup, and Lanny's #9 banner. Minutes after buying them Lanny McDonald comes strolling through the bowels of the Saddledome and then 13 year old me almost has a heart attack I get so excited. He signs them both and was great about it too. My favourite peice because it's signed and because of the story.

Never been a big momento fan - but I have a copy of the Calgary Herald the day after we won the cup. I enjoy reading that from time to time - I believe the sports section also includes a short article about Makarov likely being a part of the team for the next season.

I have a Flames vintage jersey with the 1989 Stanley Cup patch. I have a mini hockey stick with signatures from Doug Gilmour and Gary Roberts. Hmmmmmm, I have a picture that is signed by Theoren Fleury.

I am soon going to be in posession of a Roman Turek game used stick!

My best keepsake is not a Flames keepsake though. I have a Henri Richard picture signed by him which is probably my best hockey keepsake. That thing is cool!

I have the puck Lanny Macdonald put high short side on Patrick Roy in game 6 of the 1989 Finals....kidding! Mine would have to be a penant signed by the entire 1989 Flames cup winning team, my Dad got it for me when they were holding secret practices at SAIT during the playoff's.

I don't like the idea of buying autographed stuff, cause to me it's more about the story so I've got two.

1) Signed Kipprusoff picture: Durring the playoff run, me and a buddy were down at the Fanatic after game 2 against the lightning. I had bet an oilers fan about something and if he lost he had to wear a Flames shirt to work. So I was there buying the shirt for him and Kipper walks in. Nicest guy. I told him that there were some great picutres of him there and asked if he'd mind signing it and he said sure, so I bought one and he signed it.
Really nice dude.

2) Last year me and 5 buddies did a crazy roadtrip and got into the Flames pregame skate in Pittsurgh. We got the entire team to sign our jerseys and were probably the first people ever to get Huselieus' autograph as a flame. The only reason we knew the Flames traded for him was because of a text message I got from a buddy after I got off the plane the night before. As I understand it he had just flown in to be with the team the night before. Anyway, the only reason we knew which one was him, was because he was the dude we didn't recognize, but man did he seem really excited when we called him by name and asked for his autograph. He must not have gotten a lot of that on his first day in Florida.

I think my best keepsake would have to be the 2004 Calgary Flames Stanley Cup Champions flag I managed to acquire. It's awesome to have something you know you're not supposed to!

I have a lot of signed hockey cards and photos from over the years, but my favourite is my old school jersey (not a new retro one, one of the ones from the early 90's) signed by Gary Roberts.

My friend called me up all excited because Kirk Mclean and Gary Roberts were down at a local sports store signing autographs. It was right after Vancouver lost the cup to the Rangers and Mclean was really popular so everyone was there to see him. Plus, it was right after Roberts missed most of the season because of his neck injury and he had surgery a couple of months before. He was really happy that I was there to see him and ask him how his neck was and yada yada yada. Wish I'd taken a camera!

I always say my Lanny coin. Don't even remember how I got the thing -- probably some handout. Plus the picture on my wall of Lanny scoring in the big game against the Habs.

There is a common thread there -- My favorite Flames player of all time by far!!!

My brother and I still have those coins. I also have a program from some Lake Bonavista fundraiser thing my dad went to and Lanny signed it for him. Its awesome because he signed "To Jeff" and I thought for the longest time that he knew who I was! Must have seen me playing!!

My (I should say our) favorite thing has to be Tony Amonte's game worn jersey that he scored his 400th goal in.

My favorite none Flame piece would have to be my Guy Lafleur game used stick which is also signed

During the Flames hey day in the 90's I was just a teenager. Over the years I have managed to misplace all the autographs I collected during that time. I got Theron Fleurys auto at a water slide in SK in the summer of 1991. We were both dripping wet in our bathing suits and he was short, but ripped. I also had Lanny McDonalds Auto that I got when I was younger at the Calgary Stampede. Also in the 80's, Tim Hunter moved across the street from my cousin's place in Ranchlands. So I got his auto then.

Most recently I got Iggy's autograph on a puck after a game agaisnt the Blackhawks last November. I have also bought and framed a Dion Phaneuf autographed 16x20 picture from Fozen Pond. I also have nearly all of Dion Phaneufs Rookie cards. That was a very expensive venture.

Amonst me jerseys, newspapers, cards, coins etc... my most prized possession is a 1989 Stanley Cup Ring. It's not a players ring, but might have been a player's wife's ring or fan ring. (14k gold, I had to get it sized up quite a bit.)
