Default I have a very unique opportunity to play vs some NHL Alumni

My company is hosting a charity game vs. some NHL Alumni on November 9th at the Saddledome. The company is raising money for 3 charities and they are auctioning off 17 roster spots. Bidding starts at $200.00 a piece and is for employees only.

I have sent an email to the organizer to find out who might be on the Alumni roster, but still I think it might be a cool thing to do. I have never played on the Saddledome ice before, and the money does go to charity.

Should be a interesting night if I do win a roster spot.

Hey, that never stopped me from playing hockey!

TOTF- let us know what the charity is. If it's worthwhile I might be inclined to make a donation to the "Send TOTF to hockey and support (let's say cancer research)" fund.

I don't know why that reminded me of it but I'm trying to think of what movie it was where somebody very non-PC said something like "you should see the look on those little ######s' faces" when trying to appear sensitive.

Put me down for $10 for the fund. Check your PM for Paypal info.

Hmmm, maybe I should give Kim a call and see if she needs a new designer for the next two months. This little promotion just might be worth having to work in that office again.

Speaking of Kim, why wasn't she at the IES luncheon today? Or Jamal? We expected some kind of representation from your company. You guys still do roadway, do you not?

Huh, I guess I just didn't see him there. I did come pretty late, so didn't have a chance to mix. 'Twas a good luncheon, the second half, at least.

You going to Chicago at the beginning of November with Richard Macdonald and Associates? I'm looking forward to that trip. Row 19 for the game between Chi and Det baby!

The NHL alumni games are always a lot of fun. Ages ago my Dads old-timers league played vs "The NHL Stars". I remember that it was Red Storey that made the game. He gave one guy a 3 minute penalty "Two minutes for tripping and an extra minute because you tripped GUY LAFLEUR!!!". One guy on the old-timers had an open net and he completely whiffed on the puck, so Red gave him "Two minutes for making an ass of himself".

These games are a lot of fun and if there is any way to participate you should go for it. If only to brag that you were on the same ice surface as some of these guys.

Some of the players that will be on the Alumni team are Joel Otto, German Titov, Paul Kruse, and Sheldon Kennedy.

I am about 1 hour and 12 minutes away from winning the RW spot on the third line. I am so excited.

LOL, everyone was bidding on first line spots and it got really expensive.

I am sure they will split up the ice time though! At least I hope.

I get to face off against Joel Otto!!!!!!!!

that's sweet. My cousin won one of two spots in an old-timers game like 5 years ago (I can't remember what the hell the game was for) he played on a line with Lanny and someone else and said it was an absolute blast
