Hahaha.
I didn't realize this thread was 5 years old. Spent a bunch of time reading old posts. But then I found the above.
It's probably too late now but puckluck I really hope you never saw Trevor Kidd and punched him.
I don't know his wife's brother. That's a total fabrication.
But I do know Shea Weber's brother in law. Except I have no stories of him acting like a dick to kids with learning disabilities.

It would be kinda funny if some guy who read some #### on a forum walked up to Kidd and socked him one and then accuses Kidd of treating disabled children inappropriately, thereby leaving Kidd not only in needless physical pain, but also utterly confused for a long time as to what could've possibly instigated such a cruel event

Alright, so this has turned into a meeting of players, maybe not all from an embarrassing encounter, I'll share mine.
Back in Gretzky's sophmore year ('81) I was heading to Disneyland for a family vacation from Vancouver the night after the Oilers played the Canucks. In the airport my Dad and I went to the gift shop and my he grabbed a magazine for the flight. He happened to grab a Sport Illustrated, now this was cool for one reason, it was the first time a hockey player had ever made the cover, and it was young Gretzky with a full Edmonton mullet.
I'll never forget what he said to me, "This Gretzky kid will never survive hiding behind the net like that, someones' going to kill him back there, he's too small". He was a Canucks fan but soon to be a huge Flames fan.
So we leave the store and turn the corner and sure enough, the Oilers are all sitting by themselves waiting to fly to L.A. My dad grabs me by the shoulder, stops me in my tracks and says "see that little guy right there?'
"Who dad?"
"The little guy with the acne"
"Uh huh"
"Get him to sign this"
So I'm all of 9 years old and I walk over to the team, and the airport is totally empty of people, I was a little scared and I look back and Dad gives me the WTF are you waiting for look, so I march over and I say, "Excuse me Mr. Gretzky (he's like 19) would you mind singing this for me? Right away the vets start giving it to him: "Wayne will you sign this cause your the best, Wayne you're the future, Wayne you're the ##### ( I swear one of the vets said that). He looked so awkward but he asked me " What's your name?'. I tell him it's Gord and he totally brightens up "Reallly, like Gordie Howe?" And I'm like just sign this #### and get me out of here, but I say "Yeah, my Dad named me after Gordie Howe". He totally brightens up like I just made HIS day, and grabs a pen.
So he signs it "To Gordie all the best, Wayne".
As I walk back my Dad who is a certifiable Oilers hater looks at me in awe, and grabs the magazine and tucks into safe keeping like it's a biblical artifact, suddenly the behind the net talk is just b.s. I get a pat on the back and a "Good job son"
I'm a diehard Flames supporter forever, but I have that framed in my house, cause you know, reasons.
Here is a pic of the cover that was signed.

I got upgraded to business class on air canada earlier this year. Kelly Hrudey was in the cabin. I had a bit of a dodgy stomach and went to the toilet and dropped some bombs. Stunk something awful. I walked out the toilet and Kelly was waiting to go in. I smiled and nodded and let him walk to his doom without warning.
He didn't meet my eye the rest of the flight.

That's a really cool story. I love how Wayne was all humble while his team mates were breaking his balls.

I saw Dany Heatley at the Rusty Cage the summer after the crash. He was sitting by himself drinking beer after beer. Then I saw at the Stampede with a total smokeshow and didn't feel all that bad for him.
When I was ~10 I saw a bunch of flames and ex-flames having scrimmage at Southland before the season started. I climbed on the boards to get a better look and MacInnis told me to get the f*** down.
Visited some relatives in the States a couple years ago. My aunt tells me she met some hockey players for the Tampa Lightning. Shows me a picture and it's Stamkos. She had no idea who he was.

Not so much a player encounter but:
So, many many moons ago I was working security at the Dome. On this particular evening I was manning the stairwell that led to the dressing room. Now all the wives had ID badges and they would flash me the badge and I would let them down.
Well, this tiny little blonde woman comes up and demands to go by. I ask for her badge. She goes off on me with the classic "Do you know who I am? Who my husband is?" tirade. I calmly wait her out, refuse to move, and repeat I need to see her badge. She finally storms off screaming my job is gonna be lost blah blah blah.
Hours pass and end of night wrap up commences downstairs and bossman says to me, that he hears I had a small issue. I reply yeah no worries. Just your usual "I'm too important to follow the rules" groove. Bossman commends me, I get a commendation for being a stickler and then they drop a hammer on me.
I had refused entry to Bure's wife. Yes, THAT Mrs. Bure. Candice Cameron. How the hell I didn't recognize her is beyond me but yeah. I suppose The Bure's are no fan of mine, but it's ok cause that's reciprocal

This is like the antithesis of the 'how much do you drink' thread.

Considering his 5-hole was big enough to let a beach ball in it should've been no problem for him to scrounge a couple up
