A kid that's NHL ready isn't going to learn much by going down and dominating at that level. We can all talk about how it builds his confidence up. But the bottom line is an NHL coach should be able to manage a players emotional state.

I think he should stay. 9 games is barely enough time for him to start get comfortable at this level. I want to see how he plays once he settles in a bit.

Was at the game lastnight. Standout game for Tkachuk. His goal and 2 big hits erupted the Dome and lifted the team.

It was impressive

It's one thing to know you're having a weak game and need to make a difference in the 3rd - it's something else entirely to be able to go out there and DO it.

Being that impactful, in his 4th NHL game, says to me there is no way he is (or should be) going back to junior

He's here to stay

Agree even though Tkachuk is a 4 game in rookie he is actually showing leadership. That is impressive.
Tkachuk changed the momentum of the game.

Ya certainly seems to be. The other thing I found interesting about what he said, was that they're planning to have him play his 9 games and evaluate at the 20 game mark. Which obviously means they plan to sit him occasionally if his game is off base or shows some decline.

Should be interesting to see how they go about it. Unless he shows otherwise I'm guessing he will play his 9 within the first 15 or less and will stay with the big club.

Wtf... where does punching 175 babies get you? A fight with Mike Tyson? Naw... he'd be right beside you.. punching babies

Tkachuk may have just stirred the drink a bit. I think he stays.

Tkachuk belongs in this league. Physically hes ready, mentally he seems to already be getting the better of nhl vets, and the production should continue so long as he remains with brouwer and bennett. How many rookies can have an impact like that on a hockey game? Sure a young skilled guy can do it by having a big night on the stat sheet, but how many can do it emotionallly? The big hits, getting the crowd involved, pissing off the opponents, etc. very rare ability he has right there. Tkachuk is going to stay.

^ just wait till he fills out at 24-25 years old. He's going to be a beast. Something the Flames haven't had since Iggy.
