I think teams more recently have not factored the fan favorite thing much at all. No ticket holder whatsoever will say, "I'm not renewing my season tickets because Pillar isn't on the team". He's Ryan Goins of the outfield. Winning trumps all. He's controllable and a great fielder. But I think we're all starting to see that a better batter with an average glove may be more worthwhile. We've seen fan favorites endlessly dealt and people forget pretty quickly. I say trade him while his value as a fielder is high.

Well, this is the inning.

Need Barney and Jose to miraculously get on base for JD, EE and Tulo.

I'd love to see a push here, make this an exciting finish.

That's what I'm wondering as well. I don't know if Cito is just too old to do it but he always instilled good eyes in his batters. Or are the players just too stubborn?

Man the Indians look loose don't they?

Laughing and joking around like it's just another game in June.

Lineups are infinitely better with a bunch of Good hitters than with the bunch of Great hitters and then a bunch of bad ones. The key is to not have black holes in the lineup and they can really drag you down.

A guy like Travis is so key to this lineup, because he is another player who will manage to get on base or keep the line moving and because automatic outs replace him at the plate.

That's the problem with a veteran team - guys have just had success doing it their way that it's hard to get through to them. Especially with guys like Jose who don't have the same bat speed, but his approach is still the same it always was.

Games 1-3 and Game 5 of this series are all so very reminiscent of Game 7 Flames vs the Ducks in '06.

Except instead of living that hell for just one 60 min game we are subjected to 36 innings of torture.

hard to question donaldson but looks like he was swinging at that pitch no matter what. Fastball on the hands isn't a great pitch to be aggressive with.
