for all you Corsi lovers - we had to win...and we couldnt have been half as bad as the posts in here try and tell you
All that and the Flames had 20 giveaways.

Imagine what those possession numbers would have looked like without all those sloppy plays. They'll clean it up.

Hmm... the jury's still out, it seems.

I'm really excited for the Hurricanes game. It's always fun seeing Carolina come in. Hey, if Edmonton can beat them, so can the Flames.

It's fun to watch players turn into NHLers right in front of your eyes.

Tkachuk is going to be a beauty, but also Kulak. Loved that guys game right from the get go, and it's nice to see him breaking into the league.

Smart, good skater, doesn't panic with the puck, makes good passes.

Jokipakka plays a really smart, solid, quiet game, and people talk about potentially losing him to expansion. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season more people are worried about losing Kulak than they are about losing Joki.

One of the prerequisites for giveaways is having the puck. Teams that have the puck a lot tend to have more giveaways.

they worked for this win, and controlled most of the game. still lots of things to work on, though. don't know what's going to happen with the pp this year.

encouraging signs so far:
heavily outshooting the other team despite a clear lack of chemistry
gulutzan not afraid to change the lineup when players (grossmann, wideman) underperform

it's a learning process for everyone on the team and i hope they click sooner rather than later.

Really smart player and patient with the puck too. Very impressed by his play so far.

Yeap, but a lot of the giveaways tonight were just sloppy play by Flames players who seem just a bit off to start the season.

When they get more comfortable with everything I suspect we will see less of that.

Do you want to be Gene Principe? You're on a slippery slope friend.
