Even if the Flames wanted to buy out Wideman they can't afford it. That guy wearing an A this season makes me ill.

Hopefully the A is just a pre season thing. Hopefully Monahan gets the one he split with Wideman full time and Russell's goes to Brodie

Agree that is exactly what I am hoping. Gio Monahan Brodie. Makes a hell of lot more sense than a non leader in Wideman.

Didn't know you were in the room with the guys to determine who is a leader.

So do people think he's NHL an caliber defenceman? He honestly is a liability any time he's on the ice.

Please get rid of him before he costs us some games.

He looks so disinterested it's laughable. I'm on board with taking a hike.

He's been pretty terrible so far.

Only two games though, so I get letting an older veteran find his legs.

If he's still struggling in a couple of weeks at the longest, he better start spending time in the press box.

It isn't just two games though. He's been awful in his entire time in Calgary. Yes even when he scored all those points a couple seasons ago. His defensive game wouldn't cut it in the ECHL. He's slow and dumb and will have the refs make questionable calls against him all year. Tell him to go home and suck up his contract or make a trade even if it means you have to give up a draft pick.

I'd say send him to the minors, but friggin' Feaster gave him a friggin' NMC.

He may be the worst player in the NHL.

On the Bright side, it could've been Wideman AND Brad Richards.

He was bad tonight but he wasn't on the ice for the McDavid breakaway. It was the two defensemen that are supposed to be foundational players being caught up ice playing selfish. Silly to blame Wideman for a team issue.

Which breakaway are you talking about? He had about 3 and yes Wideman was on the ice for one of them and no one is just blaming him so if you want to talk about Brodie and Gio maybe start a thread or talk about them in the PGT? This is about Wideman and his atrocious game, skating, defence. He single handily caused two breakaways today.

Let him sit in the press box for the rest of the season.

So, the first game, some posted that Wideman was very good. This game, many call for a trade.
Wake the F#$% up fellas, he's here for the year. Not one player, aside from Grossman is the problem on this team.
The fact that the WHOLE team has not played in pre season games is having an effect {sp} on team play.
I really think, Johnny not being at camp is a big reason for the teams struggles, I see 0-4 to start the season.
