I would like to see a Tkachuk/Bennett/Brouwer line make some noise and divert opponents from focusing on Johnny and Sean.

Well maybe.
But he seems as ready as a Sean Monahan to make the jump. And his style of game (fully developed) adds a needed dimension.
Best impression from a kid out of camp.
Nine game audition? I think he might surprise.

Bennett/Tkachuk will be as impactful a combo as Gaudreau/Monahan I think. A 1-2 punch.

I think they will play off of each other well with one taking the hard matchups, and one getting the easier time. It will probably switch depending on the opposition. Do you stack against Monahan and Gaudreau? Well then you have a force of speed and power coming at you. Spread your defenders and guard both? Gaudreau has that extra space he needs (which is like an inch).
I think both Bennett and Johnny are in for a good year.

I mean, you can't blame the poor soul; in his situation one can only hope.

Hm
Seems plausible.

3 games out of 9
12:45 TOI no points -1 7 shots on goal. 2 hits
He can play at the NHL level on the Flames as a 3/4 forward. Up til now he hasn't looked better than Bouma or Chaisson. Definitely upgrade on Bollig.... but don't know how he would do if he was forced into fighting a goon.
Unless he shows another gear in the next I don't think it is worth burning a year of his ELC... Like to send him to juniors after 4 or 5 games to leave some games on his tryout to have a chance to get him at the end of the year for a playoff run (like Bennett)

He has not looked out of place at all. Made some exciting offensive plays. He needs to stay all year no question

I really hate to agree with ricardodw on anything, but the Flames should send Tkachuk to the junior ranks. Keep him away from what looks to be a struggle for the team as they figure out if Gulutzan is a good fit for the organization or Chuck Barris.

I think the Flames should send him down after tomorrow nights game. That leaves 5 games for the end of the year. I don't see the need of burning a year of ELC, Im assuming if this happens Bolig is back?

No need to send him back yet but if things continue as they have been then definitely send him back before the 10th game. Also if he is going to play with Stajan and Chaisson then send him back he needs to play with one of Bennett, Backlund, or Monahan

This is just crazy talk after 3 games, and sending him back to the farm just to get him away from the team is a bizarre reasoning. either he's ready for the NHL or he's not, its pretty much that simple.
After 3 days he looks like he has an NHL skill set and physically he seems to be mature enough to be here, but the telling tale will be the next 6 games as he moves from adjustment to playing at speed.
when we talk to new football players, the one thing we notice for them is that the game seems to be going a billion miles an hour. But at some point you see their head turn and they start seeing the game and it starts slowing down to a manageable speed. We're basing looking for his head turn now.

He doesn't look ready for a 2nd line role in the NHL. Sam and Troy look way better.
Sit him one game? See if he responds like Johnny.
Or send him down and let him find his game.

I thought he looked fine, Flames as a whole are struggling to find their chemistry.
I would think no decision will be made until the 9 game mark
Line that has had the most struggles is the #1 line.

I don't think that you can make any decision on him yet. The team has played pretty bad for the most part, but he hasn't been a problem. I think they'll use all 9 games to evaluate. Saving 5 games isn't going to work as the Knights will be in the playoffs then and you aren't allowed to bring a junior player back until their season is done.
I feel that Tkachuk is a better option than having to play Freddie Hamilton and calling up someone from the minors (likely Bollig). I still feel he stays the season.

What is the thinking on how games to burn? Send him down after 5 games and reserve the right to bring him back later in the year or wait the full nine games and then decide what to do with him then?
He absolutely hasn't looked out of place. But is that enough to stay here? Will he continue to develop in juniors?
Another way to look at it. You can't expect to break in say 3 rookie forwards next year. So if you send him back to junior, I would argue you have to bring up someone from Stockton so they are "seasoned" in the NHL before next year.
