That's a shame. Crosby's the best player in the game, it always sucks to see him get hurt.

Disappointing. Hopefully it's just very mild and precautionary. I wonder at times if he's going to be able to play into his mid-30's as I imagine it's going to get to a point where he decides he's accomplished enough and looks toward a healthy life after hockey.

That sucks. How many concussions has this been? At some point, he needs to start thinking about his longterm future and well being.

Brutal. Hockey is never the same when he's not playing.

It's been 4+ years since Crosby'slast concussion. He missed time after the lockout season because he took a puck to the face. He missed significant time with a neck injury that was misdiagnosed as a concussion.
Crosby has played in 77+ games each of the last three years.
Let's pump the brakes a bit on his quality of life.

Yeah at this point, he's kinda done it all. That second cup, combined with his dominance in international tournaments, cements his legacy as an all time great.
But he's a competitive dude.

TSN reports that it happened at practice but gave no further details. Hopefully that means that it wasn't a really high impact incident, so the concussion will be on the milder end.

Since this news came out, has tsn anointed McJesus the best player currently in the NHL?

It always sucks seeing the best player in the game get concussed....again. Even worse is now we'll hear nonstop about how McDavid takes the crown as best player ever.

Damn that sucks. He's easily my favourite player in the game. I hope he can recover quickly and hit the ice again. The NHL needs this guy playing.

You clearly need to research concussions if you think this is nothing to be worried about. It's cumulative concussions that have more of a chance to lead to post career depression. I suggest some read the concussion studies done as it's pretty scary to the point I wonder at times how long I want my oldest boy to play football.

After a few concussions, I am not sure there is such thing as a "mild" one. Brain damage doesn't heal so it's a compounding effect.
I recall that it came out after Crosby came back the last time that he admitted that he considered retirement. You have to wonder if he doesn't start thinking that again.

It's not one or the other. They are very related. His neck issues contributed to post-concussion symptoms (and vice versa).

Disappointing news. Best player in the league no question for me. Always entertaining to watch. Hopefully he'll be able to recover sooner then later.

He has nothing left to prove aside from stack up stats and try to pursue records and collect more rings. At this point it's just purely playing for the love of the game. While that is good enough to keep him playing, his health is what's most important. With another concussion, one would have to think he gives retirement a serious thought, because the long term risks aren't worth it; especially since he's done it all.
