I'm over Wotherspoon, don't think he'll ever be a regular NHLer

Who cares about Vey, hopefully we don't lose Wotherspoon but it seems unlikely a team would claim him.

Watson sure has been a bust in Nashville. 18th overall in 2011.

Bollig, Chiasson and Hamilton make the opening roster now I assume.

Wotherspoon more like witherspoon...
2 bad he didn't show more, but Kulak definitely out played him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Higgins make the team now. I think Gulutzan likes him from his time in Vancouver. Higgins definitely doesn't deserve it though, even if he is decent at PK.
Grossman may also make the team for whatever reason.
Some pretty big busts going on waivers through the NHL

Nothing pointing to that. He would not be on the waiver wire. Just signed or released from pto

Keep in mind being put on waivers doesn't necessarily mean assigned to the AHL yet.
Flames could be putting them on waivers for roster flexibility in case they need it.

I actually don't mind Tyler Wotherspoon. Decent size. Long reach. Nothing flashy but seems to smother forwards. Wish he could be the #6/7D and get more NHL experience to improve.

Seems more likely they end up signing Russell.

Not surprising. Neither will get claimed.
Kulak should make the opening night roster. Grossmann should go back home ... really slowly.

Not surprised but still disappointed in management. When they made that trade for Chiasson and signed him immediately I had a feeling he would make the team no matter how bad he looked. Can't say I love how the current management group operates.

I think they're going with Kulak - he outplayed Wotherspoon. If they sign Grossman it's to sit in the stands, and who wants Wotherspoon doing that?

Yeah, but once you are outside of that top 10 or 15 in the 1st round, there are a lot of "busts". Looking at the players that were drafted in the first round after Watson, there are a couple of gems but quite a few "meh" players as well.

Kulak doesn't need to clear waivers, correct?
Way rather we try him again than sign Grossman.

He doesn't need waivers, but if he is going to be scratched most nights as the 7th d-man, it makes more sense to have Grossman in that role of eating popcorn with Kulak getting top 4 minutes in the AHL.
Unless you think Kulak has reached the limit of development in the AHL.
