I also believe the "Gaudreauvertime" account will self-destruct.

So what would freak out CP more, Him signing short term or for over 7.5?

Yup...stir the pot more...lol
I hate both, but over 7.5 is worse just by a hair.

For me, I'll be less than pleased if it is over 7.5. they really need to keep the AAC low.

Where is that guy that did the Treliving is a wizard deal estimate. He was pretty close with Monahan's deal i think.

7.5 is fair.
7 for the actual contract, plus a .5 bonus for bringing some semblance of normality back to CP.

a short term contract is by far the worse scenario, well unless its 3 yrs at 4 mill.....
at least 7 years or bust. I can handle a 7.5 mill deal as im not paying it. If the hawks can be competitive with two 10 mill players why cant anyone

Here's hoping for a 5x5 just because it would be hilarious. That's long term enough.

Using the "adjustment for Treliving wizardry" metric, I was quite close to the mark on Dougie and Gio, but was way off on Monahan and Brouwer. But what the heck, let's give it a try anyway.
Term:
Flames want: 8 years
Gaudreau's camp wants: 8 years
No real adjustment or settlement there. Flames want Johnny as long as possible and Johnny's camp wants the biggest term for the guaranteed $$.
AAV:
Flames want: $6.75m
Gaudreau camp's ask: $8.25m
Settlement: $7.25m
Adjustment for Treliving Wizardry: $7m
Final verdict: $7 million for 8 years

It depends.
I said from the outset that I felt the team would be best with Monahan and Gaudreau signed long-term for a combined $14M, so anything south of that is gravy in my eyes, so long as the term is a minimum of 6 years.

Neither one is happening, so what is the point of this question?

I'd be stoked if its $7M x 8.
That would definitely warrant some credit to Treliving's Wizardry.
If I'm Johnny I'd also try and fire my agent before he gets his cut because getting that contract likely would not have been this hard.

Considering that 99% of the Johnny contract threads are useless banter and not actual news or discussion, lets change the subject.
Assuming he does sign, for any amount, How does Johnny celebrate?
1) Takes the team out for an expensive dinner
2) Makes a mountain of Compliments Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, throws grilled cheese party for team
3) Makes a mountain of Kraft Singles Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, throws grilled cheese party for team
4) Blows a solid mil on skittles and mountain dew
5) Fires his agent
6) Gets a new pair of lifts for his shoes
7) Large Purchase of high fructose corn syrup producer stocks
8) Hires scientists and funds a R&D campaign to make fruit and vegetables taste like Nutella
9) Shows that he has 'changed'; eats a salad; dies
Mod's can we get a poll? The value this post brings to this discussion is on par with 99% of the rest of the posts in this thread so it shouldn't be a big deal, right?

After all of this circus, is there a joint press conference to mend fences publicly?

Would that be a win for Treliving considering the rumored desire to keep him under Gio's number.
Feels like anything between 7 and 7.5 is a compromise for both sides with anything outside of that range being a home run for the applicable party.
