From what I saw vs Oilers the other day, he looks like he's on the verge of turning into a dominant player. His puck confidence is really picking up and he looks way more explosive., which is fairly scary for the rest of the league.
I'm thinking if he can keep with a solid finisher like Brouwer, he could pretty easily pot 20g and 50p, with upside to maybe 65? Either way, I'm betting next year's AC tribute might have to be a two part video ala Johnny.

Why did you have to bring Johnny into this? You were doing so well...

I'm thinking a 50 to 60 point player that might hit 40 goals once, but with intangibles.

I think it's reasonable to have high expectations for Bennett, since he is the highest draft pick in Flames history. It would be a disappointment if he didn't become a top line player like Monahan and Gaudreau.

Assuming both play the same number of games this season, who will have more points between Bennett and Gaudreau?

Gaudreau, quite easily. Bennett looks like he will be good, but he's not gonna go from 36 pts to 80 in a single season. I expect (assuming say 80 games), he'll get around 50 pts. Gaudreau will be around PPG again, I think.

Making a bet with an Oiler fan coworker that Bennett will have more points than Drasaitl this season. We're betting on best points per game, and games played needs to be within 10 of each other.

He has shown that he's definitely a good bet to be as good as Monahan, if he gets that many points will be dependent on if we find him his own Johnny to play with. I think his ceiling is probably a bit higher than Monahan.
That being said, many young players have had good 40 point rookie seasons and didn't turn into much.

Bennett wasn't exactly playing sheltered minutes as a rookie last year. On the wing, with Backlund and Frolik, he was constantly matched up against the best players on the other team.
Later in the year, I don't recall him being to sheltered after he moved to centre either.
I have no doubt that he can be our best Centre.

We need to find a good nickname for Bennett before he can reach his full potential.
I have heard the nickname "Benzo" tossed around. I think that person got banned for that suggestion. Another suggestion I've heard was "Benito Samuelini". Equally as bad.
Maybe just "Benny" will Suffice.
I think Benny's potential is 70 Points.

Benzo is a perfectly fine nickname.
Better than Sammy B or Benny or 20 year old 18 year old Sam Bennett.

I like to think of Bennett as a draft pick who had the potential to be 1st overall, but fell into our laps because (among other things) he couldn't do a single pull-up.
So basically, we got a 1st overall pick without the indignity of winning the draft lottery nor placing 30th overall. The Oilers can carry that title with pride.
