Because he was upset a teammate was shot and killed and is likely not thinking clearly.

Forgive me because I am old and spend my Saturday nights in the comfort of my basement, but is the picture of the comely lasses of virtue true from inside the marquee?
Is there any speculation that hicks was the target, or was he in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Ah yes, the Marquee is Calgary's exclusive home of drunk, attractive women..
And from early reports it sounds like a fight that started inside and carried on later outside. Though as early reports go, there's conflicting stories of it not starting inside. Still too early for clear details i suspect. Still seems surreal, just awful

I heard from someone that was working that the fight broke out inside the club, they got kicked out and the guy went and grabbed a gun from his car.
